I could listen to this all day--this, to me, is the real art of bass playing--in the pocket, warm, and impossible to play if you don't have groove in your soul. I listen to this everyday

UB40 was so recognizable. I don't play any instrument well, jus a bit, but bass is one of my favourites especially reggae basslines. I found basslines of Gregory Isaac's music so very recognizable and i love it!

I was born in Britain to Jamaican parents, in 1968 my older brother came from Jamaica singing Jamaican songs. We weren’t allowed such music in our strict Christian household, but when I left home I could reconnect with the Studio one, Trojan records, Rock steady. Toots and the Maytals and all that good stuff. I needed to hear and reconnect. Thank God for you as well !

Studio one is what gave yellow man and so many others sucess! The bass lines in a reggae song is so important. Riddim up!

I played some of these a while back in a band and the big problem I had was remembering the rhythms for each so I managed to learn enough to be able to write somewhere near the correct notation as a memory aid - and here they are all done properly! Great lesson and invaluable having notation and tabs to accompany it thanks so much.
