I found my own way out of multiple maps, My all time favorite was Containment because I found a way to get a scarab and ghost out of the map and would play our own version of king of the hill on those towers outside of the map. You can drive up them.

Wraith launches and super bounces was damn fun to do. There were also a few players setting up custom lobbies with a modded xbox. One match being on Elongation with scarab guns as primary and weapons that spawned objects as well as spawning outside the map, something that blew my mind back in 05. Back then the modding tools were limited but i remember those youtube videos of modded map packs and always wanted to play them. Doing super jumps to reach the top of skyscrapers on headlong were good memories. And that cheap corner spot on foundation when playing custom zombies matches, back when 1 out of 5 didn't swap teams.

8:42 another thing that's really cool that has the same effect, if you start spamming your button to throw grenades during the end of the cutscene and you keep throwing all of your grenades, Chief will just stay in the pelican and not hop out. The pelican will still fly away and "crash" like normal but you stay in the seat the entire time. Then just press X or E to get out like you would any other vehicle!

General Heed had also covered that last glitch with the elite and he goes into detail as to why that's the case.

11:30 I'm pretty certain that has always been there, I remember jumping back into the cryo tube before it closes would cause the body to appear. Also on 343 Guilty Spark you can throw a frag grenade before leaving the pelican and it won't eject you. Both glitches I discovered myself long ago.

Some thoughts from a speedrunner: 5:30 you don't need to melee or anything to ghost. Your hitbox is displaced by just crashing into an object with the right orientation and enough speed. On classic H2 you can get enough speed just by running. On anniversary or vista the physics tick rate is twice as fast and you really can't get enough speed to do it in normal conditions. You need to get several bumps without your hitbox resetting in order to ghost through a wall or door on Cairo. 12:15 They can't see you or shoot you at all. The only risk is that there are some invisible surfaces that will detonate rockets, so it is possible to blow yourself up while doing this. You also need to go into the lower level of the Scarab to get the pilots to load. 12:30 Busted animation priority leads to almost all the fun glitches in H2. Cancels, Swordflies, Butterflies, everything would be impossible without animations working this way. 13:30 Swordflies are a tick-perfect trick where you change weapons, then cancel the animation, then you can get one frame where the sword reticle is red/not red based on the range of the first weapon, not the sword. If you then lunge with the sword reticle red, you lunge without regard to how far away the enemy is. Physics works fundamentally differently during lunging so there are a bunch of other things you can do to modify this, like midair stops, jumping while not touching the ground, redirecting midair, and so on. It is also possible to start a swordfly WHILE swordflying. Your inputs need to be accurate to within a 30th of a second on classic and a 60th of a second on anniversary. It is impossible to time it consciously, but you can learn to do it through muscle memory. 14:50 We didn't actually know this was possible until only a couple years ago. Butterflying used to be a multiplayer thing but it turned out to be possible with the player and an enemy. You need a combination of crouching, melee cancelling and midair stops. The same principle made prison skip possible on Gravemind. Technically that is a butterfly too, though you don't have to control any of your movement so it is much much much easier. We have a very similar skip on Uprising using a brute, though it is much harder to pull off, and parts of Regret can be skipped using drones. 18:50 Pelibumps don't save you a tonne of time. They save like 5 seconds in a 4 minute level. I have an Anniversary Easy Pelibump time that is slow enough that it is beaten by several non bump times. When you grind attempts out as fast as you can you'll get maybe 2 good bumps per hour. You then need to hit some super precise cancels and survive RNG hell sniper jackals after. I never wanna see that pelican again. Only the top few IL times use Pelibumps since they're just hell to go for. There's a similar bump on Metro using a Spectre. 19:00 This can be used to bring any vehicle in. However only one specific spectre works for the Johnson dupe. We don't fully understand it but it seems to have a flag that overwrites some AI conditions so that the elite will drive it up to you at the start of the level. Any other spectre will not work, no more Johnsons will spawn and if you take one down to Tartarus, he will disappear. You can still bring them in - just no Johnson dupe. 20:00 He's simultaneously modelled as a councilor and flagged as an honor guard so his armor is screwy. Nobody quite gets what is going on with him, it is probably just an oversight giving him both flags. He is also the final boss of Gravemind so maybe they wanted to make him unique and this was a way to do that.

I remember playing CE on PC back in 2004-2005 and we would go to Death Island, drive all the way out to the invisible wall in the water and ram one another with a Warthog pushing us beyond the barrier. After a maybe 10 minute walk you’ll reach the edge. I remember putting screenshots on xFire, but we all know how that ended.

@@MDubHusky Aha! It was a pretty small community in comparison to how huge games are now, so idk: do you remember a clan named =DG= Dark Guardians? We played a ton of Custom Edition. Were on Coldsnap basically daily. Or Yoyorast Island, Hugeass, etc. Really, really miss those days, man. I think Rocket Sloth should get CE and do some videos on how awesome those maps were. Like a lot of them had Easter eggs in them too. So fun to cover if he did.

@@iamgooii holy shit I clearly remember DG! I used to play a lot with a now long lost friend named ‘Danger Mario’. We were part of the [ML] clan (for Mama Luigi since we loved watching KZread Poops back in the day. And gosh, trying to use xFire on my Dad’s crappy XP was a riot. As an adult now with a beefy PC, I still miss those early days of raw simplicity.

Sword-flying - used to play Halo 1+2 a lot with a friend and initially he always mocked me for randomly dying... i was testing out everything i could think of and learned how to sword-fly to leave him behind :P (And of course massive ghost-fan. I took it with me everywhere)

So regarding the halo ce level 6 mission(or at 8:55 in), instead of trying to jump onto the pelican, just as the cutscene ends, if you throw a plasma grenade, you wont exit the pelican and itll take you all the way to that map edge where you can see the pelican is like crashed and resume as normal. Its way easier and safer as you dont have to worry about falling to your death

the Great Journey Spectre glitch is great, when i was a little kid I accidentally figured out the skip itself while flying the banshee and would always use it to avoid the entrance section because i hated fighting brutes. good memories

11:34 That's not something Combat Evolved got when MCC came out. I still have the original Gearbox PC disk of CE and you could def see Chief in the tube, although you had to stand in a few specific places in order to see the model through the glass.

8:50 you don't need to jump on it if you are fast enough with a grenade throw you can animation cancel and remain in the seat and get up there that way. also works on assault on the control room and any mission you start in a pelican timing is a pain though.

The Chief cryo glitch I'm 95% sure it was in the original. I don't know it was chief or the gray Spartan though. However the new MCC glitch is the body popping up mid cutscene as the Chief gets out Cyropod.

I really hope they add Acrophobia to CE soon. There are so many places that can only reasonably be accessed with flight, and you could probably glitch the hell out of the game with it. As far as an actual glitch goes, I don't know if I'm the first one to notice this, but I haven't seen any mention of it before. On the Library in CE, when you pick up the overshield, if you backtrack to the first big pit, you can actually step off the edge and fall to the bottom of the pit, but survive because of the overshield. It's... Interesting, seeing there's no death barrier there.

If I recall correctly, you should be able also to survive falling in every elevator pit there. Anyway there is a death barrier in that first pit, but it's placed far above instead

@@nomecognome6713 That's precisely why I want Acrophobia in CE. There are so many places the devs never intended players to see, and I love exploring places like that. I also want Halo 5 added to MCC with Bandana and Acrophobia, but that's another matter entirely.

One glitch I discovered and used to do on og CE, when Keyes gives you the pistol, get to the cafeteria as fast as possible skipping the CP and grab an assault rifle and plasma weapon, then go back and hit the CP to get the pistol and you'll have 3 guns.

0:37 Interesting, so this happens in vanilla as well. In the "Cursed Halo Again" mod, if you die in the middle of a spin kick, jump kick or head-mounted pistol barrage, you'll hear Chief dying but he won't fall over dead until you finish the animation.

Shaky plasma pistol is my favorite. An Elite who just never wanted a part of this war must now shoot his first human civilian in the name of the Great Journey.

Not only were the in-game glitches fun to play with, but the exploits were so fun too. I loved the action replay exploit that allowed you to basically mod the game any way you wanted. Even for live games. You could invite vanilla players to your custom game and have them experience some crazy stuff. Obviously if you did this in a real match you'd get instantly banned, but Microsoft was cool enough not to ban my live account for keeping it private.

the Arbiter mission phantoms was one I noticed years ago when playing. My personal headcanon for them free falling was that the Flood had killed the pilots. Not that it makes sense, younger me just thought it was cool

Another warthog glitch at the bridge on Assault on the controllroom: If you get down to the warthog, instead of going forward into the level, drive the hog into the building with the elevator is, park it outside the elevator, take the elevator up and run back to the start of the level and get all the loading points. Now if you play the level normal, you will have the warthog you parked outside the elevator and when you get outside you will get anotherone, Doubble hogs for co-op!

On 343 guilty spark, you can stay on the passenger seat by throwing grenades, which skips the eject seat and then fly away with you until it lands on the hills near the lost marine.

about the pelican bit at the level 343 guilty spark, you do not need to jump oon the pelican. just spam the grenade button in the bit before you get kicked out and you stay in the pelican and ride it out until it crashes. if i remember correctly that also works on Assault on the control room.

Regarding the elite at the end of Gravemind: there’s actually 16 different variants of that guy. You get a random one with each spawn. I did a video a little while back where I went and found every strange and unique enemy throughout each Halo and in so doing, discovered each permutation.

Didn't realize Leaking is what it was called. Playing on Halo CE for pc, my clan and I would use this to get outside of the water border on Death Island and take the huge trek to the actual edge of the map. I got good enough at it that I could drive the warthog, turn at just the right moment and jump out and the hog would push me through the wall. Could also ram the whole ghost through the border aswell but it would get stuck in the floor and be super slow. If you crouched outside you wouldn't be able to stand back up.

8:40 easier way is just throw a grenade as soon as possible after the cutscene and you stay inside the pelican as it flys off

IIRC the "no damage bug" you vaguely described with the Elites is actually that for whatever reason, Elites with Covenant Carbines in singleplayer lack the appropriate means to actually inflict damage. I believe it's probably a missing hitbox, because I don't recall their hits connecting at all.

6:08. That’s not specific to that Jackal sniper, all of them do that. I think it only happens if you shoot them center mass and you haven’t been detected. They get startled and drop their beam rifle. 9:02. An easier method is to just toss a grenade right before the animation to exit the Pelican starts. You’ll end up staying in the Pelican and can stay inside as it leaves the map. 20:03. His variant is set to a null value. So when the game calls him up to be spawned, it doesn’t know what to spawn, so it just assigns random armor.

i can confirm, that the danger canyon warthog ram to the enemy base did work, i remember seeing people doing it alot.

The Halo 1 glitch where you can jump back onto the cryo pod and see the headless Master Chief you have been able to do that since the original

Halo CE, Control Room I once got the Banshee you hijack to kill final cutscene Master Chief by just flying it into the opening door, it'll drop on him, just does the cutscene nirmally following nothing. Also if you strafe at the door at the top of the structure in a ghost in the direction you exit the ghost and get out just at the right time it will clip you through the door and the enemies are there but not active, you can hit them all in the back or whatever and open the doors from the inside without doing the final fight. I never see the ghost one mentioned in any of these videos so I always wonder if I'm like the only person who knows about it or maybe it was so old news that no one mentions it, lol.

In CE. You can just double tap reload then swap weapons and your guns will reload while keeping you fighting. I’m not sure if anniversary graphics changes this or not

Omg, this is the first video iv found that mentioned chief getting splatted by a banshee on the control room, I managed to get it on the original Xbox in single player campaign, only got it once tho..😅

Play CO-OP assault on the control room, go to the elevator room and have one person jump down the shaft below the lift with as many grenades as possible over and over until you have dozens of bodies and grenades at the bottom. Then throw a grenade down there to set off all the others and watch the bodies fly.

So i couldnt find your video on it, but im playing on xbox 360 with Halo CE right now, on Two Betrayals. And the beginning part where you can hit the button to despawn grunts and jackels, only one elite spawned and one jackel, everything else was gone, i couldnt even continue on cuz the beam that cheif walks into wasnt on. Is that normal on xbox 360? Cuz i thought i could continue after doing the despawn. Plus i didnt think it despawned almost all the enemies. So if anyone got an answer that'd be great lol.

Try Curse halo, the double jump will allow you see more areas

Didn't even mention the energysword/warthog/banshee trick from OG days. Sit in the passenger of a hog, hit your buddy with the sword. Your buddy runs into a banshee normally parked in front of the hog and flies off. You get out of the warthog and fly after it. Am disappointed this was missed.

I was hoping to see the halo 2 warthog sword lunge... haven't seen that since the map pack patched it out.

Any particular reason my comment on hog launching was deleted? It added some context about its history and corrected some statements in the video. To clarify, it wasn’t a Halo Custom Edition glitch/trick, it was in the original Xbox version and still remains in MCC. There are loads of videos on KZread that are about Halo 1 hog launching, most notably from old school users Dark Helmet and Ducain.

Yeah i was so confused. He described such a easy glitch kn such a complicated way. And he didn’t mention that by utilizing this glitch with weapon swapping you get unlimited ammo

You can also get the banshee on assault on the control room in the area with the scorpion tank if you shoot the bottom of the landing pad the elite will die and banshee will fall off. Unfortunately does not work on mcc only on the original Xbox. Trust me I have tried. Just thought you should know 😊

halo ce death animations are all like that even on the og disk elites marines ect. anything with a move able jaw really before rag doll death it was a body flatten type thing /in ce if you are in the pelican im not sure if it works still but lob grenades before you get out of pelican you stay in it and you can just ride it in the 2 areas mentioned here /sniper jackles do this all through halo 2 but to do this 100% of the time shoot the beam rifle while hidden (before they notice you) Reply

Let me add this: the "unlimited ammo" works in all halo games, the only difference is you have to swap your empty (magazine) gun with an ally and then swap it back. Important thing to keep in mind is you can't have your magazine refilled with more ammo than its reserve And a little fun fact on the bridge in Zanzibar: place a warthog on it aver lower it for endless ear pain

I knew almost all of these except for a few CE ones, I will say though that the cryotube glitch is in the original Xbox release of the game, there is also a triple weapon glitch in CE but it's hard as hell to pull off

The headless mc in the cryo tube has been there since the first Halo PC port. I had it on CD and played and explored that port when I was probably 12? Dunno but ya I’m surprised to see how much I was able to find out from being a bored kid playing Halo CE on my first desktop lmao
