20 Mins Of...Killer Instinct Intro (US/Arcade)

Ойындар

20 minute loop of the attract mode for Killer Instinct (Arcade). US version released by Midway/Nintendo to arcades in 1994. Developed by Rare.
Take note of the "Ultra 64" adds during the video. I cut and re-looped this, as the sound fades away after about the first three minutes.

Best game ever made in the Fighting game genre. I remember when Killer Instinct was released when people at the arcades started shouting things like, "These graphics blow Mortal Kombat out of the water!" and "That combo was 30 hits!" When Killer Instinct was released, everyone started standing around the Killer Instinct machine rather than Street Fighter 2.

I remember at the old roller rink in my hometown, they had Killer Instinct for a while on a feature cabinet. Being an undersized 7 year old, I had enough trouble getting up to regular cabs to start with. When I saw KI's graphics and that feature cab that felt 100 feet high, I was like, "this is the greatest thing I've ever seen." I don't remember if I ever played it, but I watched a lot of KI, and that was fun enough. Just the spectacle was enough for me.

The animations that play during the attract mode are fascinating. The guys at Rare were just getting used to using the new SGI technology at the time.

As much as I was a Mortal Kombat madman kid when I was younger, you couldn't deny Killer Instinct at high volume. Awesome cabinet too. Primal Rage was another one that got your attention, as it had the subwoofer built into the cabinet near the coin door.

Of all the arcades I've ever went to, only one of them actually had the game turned on loud like it was intended.

The VS screen in the snes version confused me for the longest time as a kid until I fell on the arcade game in its own emulator (took some time for it to be playable in mame) in the 00s and I realized that those still pictures were supposed to move

KI Gold should’ve been a compilation of KI 1 and 2 for Nintendo 64.

It’s too bad MAME for Android doesn’t have an option to get this game to work
