4K Plane Spotting at London City Airport from close up. LCY airport is the smallest, but most centrally located airport in London. Thanks to it's close proximity to the banking district of Canary Wharf, the airport is mainly used by business travelers. This fact also influences the destinations served from here. Due to the tall buildings surrounding the airport a much steeper approach is needed. Also the very short runway limits the aircraft types which can fly to London City Airport. Aircraft types: A318, A220-100, E190-E2/E190, Dash 8 Q400, ATR42/72, various business and private jets. Traffic included in this video can be found below. Active runway: 27 landings and departures. London City Airport is literally the nest of the Embraer E-Jets series. It looks like an airport built for that aircraft. Anyway, I knew it existed, but I've never seen it before, so I'm really grateful to be able to see it on video. Love from Korea.

Yes things changed since i was last there. Before many more airlines and aircraft types flew there. From the iconic British Airways A318, Aer Lingus BAe 146, Flybe Dash 8, Loganair Saab 2000 and many more. Now it seems only E190 jets and sometimes Dash 8 or A220-100 fly there. Anyways. It's a cool airport for spotting.

Gotta love the EJets!!!! The E2 then.... Absolutely gorgeous!!!! They're so practical and efficient. Kudos to Embraer. And wow, they take off so quickly!! Powerful buggers....
Great channel and videos
Flew out of here on an Airbus a few years ago and then back on an Embraer. Man, the take off was something else. So fast and steep.

I had 3 flights from LCY so far. Dash 8, E190 and A220-100. All went up like rockets

Thank you! I use an expensive tripod, the camera has stabilisation built in and i also add extra stabilisation for some shots in post production ;)

Currently no plans to go to New York. Maybe I fly BA from London to Toronto Canada later this year.

Which spot? There are many in this video ;) But London City is easy. You can basically see the airport from everywhere on the North side.
Is London City the E190 home in Europe? Hahaha

Seems like it. It wasn't like this before 2019 where also lots of Dash 8, Saab 2000, Avro RJ85 and others used to fly there. Cityjet/Aer Linus don't have the aircraft type anymore, Flybe is out of business (again) and so on.
