we all are at different stages of our FN BR journey and have different learning styles. I'm an old gamer dad trying to become a better teammate for my son, and I need to dig in and really understand why players make certain decisions, that's why I watch a lot of stuff like this. My son is just naturally gifted, never watched a single tips video, didn't even adjust his settings but can comfortably fight multiple opponents the moment he jumps in. He can't teach me much, though, since he doesn't often even know how his instinct kicks in. Great channel, I'm learning a lot.

Usually 9/10 if you get pumped you wanna make boxes, don’t even worry about the mats, just start making hard builds boxes, maybe a 2x2 or a 1x2 and play spaced out from the player tryna key you since your low, if you do that and they try to phase into your box then your in a different box, you pump them and make more boxes and repeat until they lay off you, that’s generally of your in a 2x2, if your in a 1x2 you should try to get a good prefire when they break the wall, edit the cone in your box into a ramp, and go to the left or right out of the box

@reidtheninja Massive learning for my old brain. I'll be rewatching it to let it sink in. Thank you. BTW, I coined the term 'the river of goblin farts' (green water that makes you ghost-fart-swoosh). Sorry, my son is often pissed on me as I have to invent my own terms as I can't memorize the names of guns and items, too old for this stuff. Not giving up though.

@@reidtheninja thank you for your kind words. You are a good son. I know a lot of parents consider video games a waste of time. I personally think it is very biased and misinformed. FN BR from a certain perspective is more complex than chess + you have to make decisions and flawlessly execute at split-second speed. However, any parent would be proud if the child was good at chess which doesn't make much sense IMHO. We even started a channel DadsMustPlay to encourage more parents join kids playing video games but it's a work in progress, haha. One thing I wanted to suggest, Reid, keep working on your channel. I always tell my kids: focus more on creating, less on consuming. Even if you never blow big or make much financially, the process will teach you skills and personal qualities that will carry you later in life. I'm considered very smart by my clients and peers when it comes to topics of business growth hacking and marketing but it's simply because I've been obsessing over these topics for 20 years, testing, sucking a lot, making mistakes and keeping at it, you know... My kids hear me saying a lot: at first you always suck. Which simply means, accept you aren't going to be that great from the get go and you'll have to keep trying and testing for a longer period of time. I don't even know if it's a blessing or curse but my son was decent/later very good at FN BR from the very beginning when we both started. Just naturally gifted. have to train and study a lot to hope ever get to his level. Getting better is always painful. Keep at it.

Dawg ima keep it real with you, the reason you do good in creative but not ingame is because you trust yourself to make the right decision, because you play creative all the time and you know your good at it, if we’re talking about mid game fights in real games, you need to let yourself just play and stop thinking so much on what to do, just fight like you would in creative and as you go on with that you will become a better ingame fighter.
