SUMMARY
-The average lifespan of a Newfoundland is from 9 to 10 years. Newfoundlands need regular grooming, which costs approximately $65 per visit.
-The Samoyed is one of the oldest dog breeds. These dogs have genetic footprints that are close to wolves.
-The life expectancy of a Saint Bernard is between 8 and 10 years, and the grooming of this giant breed will cost approximately $65 per visit.
-Bedlington Terrier with a good pedigree will cost you slightly more than $1,500, and the grooming of this unusual dog averages out at $50 a visit.
-The Irish Wolfhound, “a gentle giant”, is totally family friendly and gets along with almost anyone.
-Black Russian Terrier will become your best friend for about $2,000.
-Landseer is classified as “giant” and was originally bred as a working dog.
-The Cane Corso is a type of mastiff. It has a short dark coat and can grow as tall as 27” and weigh 120 lb.
-Portuguese water dogs were bred as excellent swimmers and trained to help Portuguese fishermen.
-On top of the $3,000 that you’ll pay for an English Bulldog pup, you might have to spend an additional $5,000 on their health.
-Akitas are incredibly affectionate toward their masters. Cold weather switches on a “turbo button” these dogs seem to possess.
-The Dogo Argentino is a guardian dog as well as a big-game hunter. These dogs can grow as tall as 27” and weigh up to 100 lb.
-Chinese Crested Hairless are mostly bare with hair only on their tail, head, and feet. Nothing else covers them or protects them from the cold.
-The Canadian Eskimo Dog is one of America's rarest and oldest purebred canines. They were bred for work: hunting and pulling sleds.
-German Shepherds were historically used as herding dogs. Their life expectancy is about 12 years, and one visit to a grooming salon may cost about $40.
-The price for Pharaoh Hounds can vary from $3,000 to $7,000.
-Rottweilers often serve in the military or police force. When they are properly trained, they make good pets as they are fiercely loyal.
-Another name for a Lowchen is Little Lion Dog. Their lifespan is pretty long and can reach 15 years.
-Chow Chow first appeared in China, and these dogs have most likely been around for more than 2,000 yearsю
-The Tibetan Mastiff is officially the most expensive dog breed.
-The record for the most expensive dog in the world belongs to a Tibetan Mastiff called Big Splash. It was sold in 2011 for $1,513,417.

It's a pity you didn't cover the Hungarian Puli (sheep dog breed). In Australia at least, they cost around $2,000 & upwards. Medium sized dogs. With a long, curly coat that looks Rastafarian. Highly intelligent & loyal to the extreme. Great guard dogs & will protect even the family cat (when they're not chasing it) with their lives! They treat every living creature, including their humans, in the 'flock' as livestock. So they will 'herd' you by nipping at your heels. Though not hard. But they can be stubborn & persistent so need training. And, they _will_ chase smaller animals like cats. So you _must_ train them to be gentle with your cat. They're also _notorious_ vermin hunters! Anyone with a pet mouse, rat, rabbit or ferret should _not_ get one. They're high energy dogs, with a hunt/chase instinct & one geared at guarding the 'flock'. Training is _essential_ for they can be destructive. But once trained, they're well worth the effort. They also have an active sense of humour & can be really hilarious. They play a little rough when young though & so I wouldn't recommend a Puli for those with small children. Other than the high energy, the training when young, the grooming (which can be time consuming & expensive), they're highly intelligent, loyal & loving companion dogs. They also make great guard dogs. Confident & will scare strangers off. They will also bite so they do need to be watched around strangers until _they_ decide which stranger is safe to trust. I love my Puli. She's the best!

My family has been trying to get a dog from a shelter for over a year now and I think that it is harder to adopt a dog then to buy one that is why so many people go to breeders In stead. I will always want to adopt but if want a dog and have been looking and putting applications in for over 2 years then I would start looking for rebuttal breeders

I guess they're all backed by the AKC or some similar group that demands certain standards to be accepted-like docked tails and cropped ears in Great Danes and Dobermans. They also demand that the Aussies and Pembroke Corgi's have docked tails. If the AKC adopts Border Collies, what are they going to demand of the owners to do to their sheep dogs-other than accepting only black and white Border Collies? No red/white or blue merles allowed? Most of us do well to get a dog from a shelter or adoption centre. Expensive dogs are often found in puppy mills and sold to pet stores. The owners care more for the money than the dogs' health. My BC girls cane from a reputable farmer and cost less than $250 and were registered with the North Am. Sheepdog Society and American Border Collie Club. We had a Black Russian Terrier/Poodle mix when we were growing up. Free, Smokey was a smart, sweet boy who was well-loved.

@@virginiaconnor8350 You're probably right yea our new puppy cooper the Ridgeback I spoke about was over $2000 and the only reason he didn't cost more was because of the crowns on his ridge not being entirely even with one being higher than the other which is a fault in crufts competitions. Not that it bothered us he's gorgeous and I'm told that by every dog walker I pass out in the street with him hahah. He's well taken care of and loved by our whole family. Ridgebacks are a gorgeous well natured breed good with children (which is good because my sister is 9) all he needs to do is get through that puppy biting stage before he gets too big!😂

Except those super thick coated dogs. Air drying can actually cause hot spots, yeast, and bacterial infections. They need to be completely dried with a High Velocity dryer. So if people intend to groom their own large thick coated dogs, they need to fork out a large chunk of money on a HV dryer, and learn how to properly brush all the way to the skin.

See, this is why you go to the shelter. I picked up two purebred German Shepard males for $120 AUD. Sadly they'd been fixed as part of the process, but these were the most loyal and loving dogs I've ever owned. Unfortunately, I lost them both to medical issues, but I still got a few awesome years with my lovely boys.

I’m so sick of seeing things like “omg people are so horrible for buying a dog and not adopting” like, sorry that some people want to get a type of dog They really admire, from a trusted breeder who makes sure they are healthy and helps with training them before they are ready to go home, with a temperament They know the breed is known for. I am 100% for adopting dogs from shelters, I have done so many times in the past, and a lot of them were perfectly loving, kind, gentle animals. I would always encourage people to adopt a dog from a shelter or rescue, but I don’t understand people putting other people down for wanting to buy a dog... I am not super happy when it comes to pet shops, because puppy mills and whatnot...(even if you buy from a store that’s still an animal with a life and feelings) but breeders put their HEARTS AND SOULS into breeding dogs they are proud of and know are beautiful, loyal, and have good temperaments. They care about the dogs they own and breed, and they work really hard to make sure everything is good. Who wouldn’t charge for their hard work? All dogs are dogs that deserve to have families and be loved, so It doesn’t matter where they come from. Treat all people and animals with respect, don’t shame people for buying dogs, and don’t think bad of dogs from shelters, stores, OR breeders, because no matter where they come from they are unique living beings with personalities and emotions.

It took alot of warming up to, but I would definitely recommend having one as a pet, but NOT if you have allergies, they have dry skin and shed often. He was bottle fed by hand and while extremely agile, strong and energetic, he is loving and loyal to his owners and our other small min pin. Also a little princess I got from a rescue centre. His one negative aspect is he is extremely distructive. Please dog lovers, unless you are an authorized breeder, sterilize your dog.

i had to adopt a dog due to my parents allergies, we adopted a hypoallergenic golden doodle he was $2,700, every grooming appointment is $100 which is every 3 months, his yearly vet appointment $500 a year, he is only 3 right now and has not experienced any health issues common in golden doodles. well he is lucky we love him : )

I'm like the biggest dog lover but I would never pay for a dog. Not with so many in shelters who are waiting for a forever home.. Its sad and I would feel awful spending cash while some dog is stuck in a cage. Pls adopt ppl if you can. There's so many who just need love ❤ (Oh and I own a Rottweiler and a Golden Retreiver)

German Shepard’s are amazing dogs they are beautiful and loving. My family loves these dogs, so far I had one and she was amazing! Sadly she died from hip displacement... But, no worries cause we plan on getting a new one soon to love and care for! This video is so right though! My mom even had 7 of her own growing up and she loved them! They are truly amazing dogs! The top winning show dogs, if even for sale, are valued in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. The prices quoted are just for purebred pet quality dogs Champion bred puppies sell for much more. Most pure reds are just classified as "pet quality" , not "show quality". Show quality only come from breeders who actively participate in AKC dog shows..

Go to any dog rescue place and look for the breed you want online. You can sometimes find the purbred you want, if not a mix that suits your liking. There's no reason you need to ever pay that kind of money for a dog. As it is, I wouldn't trust this list. I've paid for purebreds that were half the price of the lowest price they showed on this list, so don't trust what they're saying.
