As one of the most prestigious events for Hollywood elites, celebs, fashion houses, and entertainers - you’d probably assume that EVERYONE wants to be on the MET Gala guest list. Especially since tickets cost between $35,000 and $200,000! But these stars said “No Thanks” to the red carpet night… OR have been asked NOT to attend.
Although Anna Wintour won’t reveal how or why those chosen to attend are picked - it’s pretty obvious that the hottest and most relevant stars are usually in attendance. But what about those who DON’T make the list?
Whether they chose to stay home, had other commitments, or didn’t quite make Anna’s selective list - these celebs have all sat out the once-a-year fashion prom night event. While most of us can only dream of attending the Met Gala, even the stars are subject to the organizer’s cutthroat planning.

I have absolutely NOTHING against the Met Gala, but... It is NOT Fashion's Biggest Night. It's a fundraiser....that's it.
The MetGala has become a Costume Party instead of Fashion. The younger celebs have cheapen it by wearing just about anything stupid. They aren't wearing Designers craft anymore. Some of them come wrapped in Bed Covers and Curtains.

I would LOVE for Adele to attend. I feel like she would nail any theme - going off her birthday party themes, she always commits to dressing up and she always looks amazing. But that's in private with her close friends. So I doubt she'll ever attend the Met Gala given she despises red carpets and all that celebrity/glam stuff makes her nervous. But if she did, I know she'd slay 💯

Honestly there so many celebrities i would love to see on the met gala like they would look awesome like ari,taylor,selena,adele,zayn and so many more! Like even like lady gaga and riri they attended last year but not this year so i think they would still maybe attend unlike the other celebrities like honestly even after influencers get so much hate for coming they still invite them, i think only Emma chamberlain should attend since she is a really good interviewer but there is absolutely no point in inviting Addison rae and other influencers

Actually, Whitney Houston has been invited before. She attended the 1999 Met Gala, but I'm not sure if that was her only attendances though.

Half of these celebs were legit at the Met this year and have been multiple times... so I dont understand the false title to this video. It should of been "20 Celebs that are not regular Met Gala attendees"

They’ve kind of ruined it. Just because it’s less exclusive now. And nobody stays on theme.
So, the invitees pay for the right to go, then have to get up in some expensive outfit? Or worse, allow Kim Kartrashian to "wear" a museum piece dress that was Marilyn Monroe's? Anna Wintour is crazy. The money could be better spent since AW can't adhere to her own theme.

I actually understand that adele didn't accept the invite, and If angie, (-angelina jolie ) were to be ask... I dought that she'll also accept it.. These two are one of the top most Iconic celebs/actress out there... What's more angelina's a high ranker Influencer.. and also she's one of the biggest humanitarian out there.. So it's understanable if she won't ever to show up on this event... I love these two ( -my fav ).. I'm such a huge fan.. These two have more important priorities, than to attend a bunch of Most-weird-some-are-stupid-fashion -looks Not to mention.. once again they failed.. To follow this years theme (glided era i think?.. ) instead they just run it off as if to show non sense in my POV.. which make's me disappointed cause I'm actually excited about the fact that..
