Thanks Jabs, I would love these card if there were MLB logos and stats in the back, then they would have something. The "big and sturdy" description is such a throwback line , the way they used to describe some players on the vintage era cards

Jabs family you brought back memories when u mentioned Baseball weekly. I loved reading the stats in Baseball weekly. I miss Baseball weekly. And mentioned the Expos team from 94. That team was loaded. I always thought it would have been the Chicago White Sox vs Montreal Expos. The Big Hurt Frank Thomas was having a fantastic season when the season ended early batting 353 average 38 hr over 100 RBI. It would have been interesting to see if Tony Gwynn would have finished with a 400 batting average. I think he finished that season with 394 average.

Oh, the things teachers used to get away with. When I was in first grade they had me using one of those big chomping paper cutters and back then they didn't even have the finger guards. As far as glasses go, next time you're in the store just throw on a pair of reading glasses from the display and see if that helps at all. I had to start with 1.5. I really like the way the colors look on the Tyler O'Neal patch. That's a great looking card

There’s a good video about Altuve taking the pitch when he heard the trash can and look in the dugout with anger on multiple occasions that help validate his claim and claim of other teammates. Maybe he should’ve spoke out, but how would one like to be the new Conseco and currently have teammates, that he did not participate. As for the jersey, it’s not out of the question for a guy that literally marketed and worked his ass off to get himself into the game when no one payed him any attention, also, not having the reputation necessarily as a slugger, to want to preserve and keep such a jersey of the moment for his own. I tend to believe Altuve did not participate and was upset that it was going on, but stuck between a rock and a hard place morally, he chose to take a more practical and preservative option, of balancing a continued, peaceful baseball career against compromising his personal integrity that many of men of integrity and peace would, also take.

You’re forgetting 1993 Bonds and Juan Gone each hit 46 HRs while Griffey Jr hit 45, Frank Thomas hit 41, Dave Justice hit 40, and Belle & Williams each had 38. The 93 season was the match on the gasoline can regarding fan and media interest if we’d ever see someone break 61. Then in 1994, Matt Williams 43, and Ken Griffey Jr 40 each reached 40+ HRs by the day strike hit. Bagwell was at 39, Thomas at 38, Bonds at 37, and Belle at 36. 1994 had everyone convinced that we’d see 61 fall sooner than later. Everyone was expecting Griffey to do it after back to back 40 hr seasons. He was hurt most of 95, finished with 17, then in 96 he hit 49, and in 97 he finished with 56, and in the Summer of 1998, he finished with 56 again. Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa caught everyone by surprise with their emergence in 1998 as the Home Run kings.
