Back in the 1970s, I bought & owned the entire record set or coIIection of AIexander Scourby's reading of the BibIe. Without faiI, I wouId Iisten as I went about doing my chores, caring for my baby, and quiet times of study and prayer. It has Iong been a comfort and a rock for my souI. Now 68, I once again find myseIf coming back, as my eyes are more tired, hearing is more heIpfuI for me than attempting to read. I'm so thankfuI that the WORD of the LORD is aIso written in our hearts, no one can ever take that away from us. AIso, I am gratefuI that even over the decades, the Scourby reading of the WORD of the LORD is the same as it was yesterday...today, and wiII be forever! Jesus is the Lord, i am laid at his feet. I pray I always fear him, and run to him for safety and direction for my life. I would rather be a servant on my face for eternity in his presence, than to be a queen in the pit of Hell. God be blessed and praised for his promises. The word Apocrypha simply means "Hidden. The Apocrypha is a selection of books which were published in the original 1611 King James Bible at the end of the Old Testament and positioned between the Old and New Testament. It also contained maps and genealogies. The apocrypha was a part of the King James Bible for 274 years until being removed in the year 1885. It's not certain why the apocrypha was taken out of the king James Bible in 1885. Some conjecture, and it was taken out by the printers, who wanted to save some money on the publishing of the King James Bible. The truth is the original 1611 King James Version contained the Deuterocanonical books. Just as these books the Protestants call the "Apocrypha" Books were in Martin Luther's Translation and all of the Earlier Protestant English Translations of the Bible which Predated the 1611 KJV. This should not come as a surprise when one considers that right inside the front cover the KJV says That it was: “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is TRUTH: John 17:17. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in TRUTH. John 4:24 When he, the Spirit of TRUTH, is come, he will guide you into all TRUTH. I totally relate my friend. Listening to Mr. Scourby’s emotional reading of the word brought me to Jesus Christ. I’ve never been more connected to our father in my life. I’m 36 and just came to God. However, today it can be done from the comfort of your home, using your mobile device. The relevant Prophecy is found in the 26 verses in John 17. The entire chapter is Jesus' final prayer to God, just before being crucified. In that prayer Jesus asked God to do specific things for those who would follow, and they include the ONES following Jesus today. In John 17:21, Jesus asked God: “That they all may be ONE; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be ONE in us: that the WORLD may believe that thou hast sent me." One book per night... I click on loop and off to bed I go. Psalms had tons of long ads. Made for a restless night of turning off the ads. For some reason, Proverbs turned off last night, so I'm trying again tonight. Proverbs usually keeps me awake because a new thought starts every 20 seconds or so. Why am I telling you this? The word Apocrypha simply means "Hidden.
