20 bluegrass fiddle licks in the key of A, using Roll in my Sweet Baby's Arms

This bluegrass fiddle lesson has 20 bite-sized fiddle licks you can use for any tune in A. Using the chord sequence for Roll in my Sweet Baby's Arms, I demonstrate each bluegrass lick, and show how it can fit into a solo following the chord sequence.

The Fiddle Channel Hi! My 14 year old daughter has been playing Suzuki violin since she was six years old, she also plays Norwegian folk music. Discovering your «20 licks for bluegrass» - she (finally) really wants to learn how to improvise! It would be fantastic if you could email me the sheet music (PDF)! carsten.boe@osloskolen.no

As a harmonica player, I'm always looking for inspiration/ideas from different instruments. For bluegrass, I tend to look to the fiddle. Enjoyed the phrases you shared. I'll be using some of this in my next video.

This is yet another great video in your Fiddle Channel series Chris - so helpfully, logically and clearly presented. This whole series is so informative - your breadth and depth of knowledge combined with the straight-forward way you present the information opens up so much for fiddle players especially people who are relatively new to these genres. Thank you - and please keep going!

Excellent lessons, excellent teacher!! May I suggest bit of room treatment for fiddle training videos? The resonance is distracting on your video lessons, though perhaps it is useful in the room when giving lessons, etc.
