Hey Mike, your studio is just as magical as your paintings! Look at those expensive-looking camera equipment, and the uncountable number of brushes and paint! The organization of materials in your studio is impeccable, and must be the envy of many so-called professional artists. You are a serious, committed Watercolor artist and the 20k subscribers love you and your fine demos, including yours truly who cannot get enough of your huge talent! And you are here to thank us? No sir, we Watercolor enthusiasts are grateful to God almighty for giving us the privilege to enjoy your marvelous talent and awesome watercolor demos, all for free! God bless you, sir!

Thank you Michael for such generosity in sharing your considerable knowledge with us. Much appreciated! Your choice of palette is super versatile and I too am a fan of transparent pigments. Your watercolours glow with a luminosity that is only achieved by the use of judicious pigment choices (and skill!). May I ask, (humbly) why you chose Cobalt as your go-to blue rather than say, Ultramarine? I love Cobalt but have steered away using it in shadow mixes due to its semi-transparent nature. Many thanks :-)
@watercoloronlinemsolovyev
3 жыл бұрын
Oh thank you very much for your feedback! This is a very good question about ultramarine. The thing is, I can mix ultramarine. Very easy. Just add a little red pigment to Cobalt. But you have no chance to mix Cobalt))

Can I make good Watercolor paintings without expensive Watercolors? as I am just a beginner and could not afford them, but I do have camlin artist grade Watercolor, they are cheap and affordable.
@watercoloronlinemsolovyev
3 жыл бұрын
While it is possible, I would recommend investing in your materials especially if you are a beginner. It is almost impossible to learn watercolor properly while working with subpar paints and especially subpar paper. When you are a master, you can get away with using mediocre materials time to time as you have enough skill to make something beautiful despite the materials' limitations. But for beginners, great materials are absolutely crucial!
