My hair is the same, plenty fly aways even to the front ive a lot growing away from the lock, its frustratinng. I tried crocheting this week so far so good i hope its permanent

Happy I found your channel as I am planning on starting locs. Do you ever retwist with product other than oil and water like a twisting gel?

That’s great to hear and I use to use gel when retwisting but I realized I was starting to get a little build up in my locs so I stop so I can prevent build in the future . It’s a personal choice for me , some people use gel and have no problems with it. I just like doing everything necessary to slow down or prevent build up in the future .

It all depends on you and your locs but I say at least 2-3 times a week. You don’t want to overdo it either . It depends on how dry your scalp and locs be or how often you wash them etc…

How old your locs have to be im 1 year 1 month & 20 days loced 😊❤

Lol you can blow dry them too . If it’s taking too long that’s fine . I just don’t do it all the time but when your hair gets longer and takes longer for your hair to air dry . So sometimes I do blow dry mine .

Thank you! And I can do lock smithing but its more temporary, each time I retwist I would have to deal with the loose hairs because when you wash the hair and when the retwist unravels the hair goes away from the loc again. I’m looking for more of a permanent solution lol

@@Chynax_M I have around 90 locs. The part are not big at all. I tried to go smaller but it would make a very thin braid, like with few hair strands. I think that my hair can also be called low density. Thanks for answering 🌸

@@lubio6284 braid starter locs are typically the tightest, aka the least amount of volume but locking faster. There’s little to no room for braids to bud so they usually aren’t as thick.

Ohh okay but definitely if you have fine hair starting your locs with braids will make it hard for it to puff up like it would if you start off with coils or two strand twist. I hope it works out for you! 🙌🏾

Yesss! That is so true that you bring it up , she didn’t have much but I guess because they have grown over the last few months it looks more . But I think that happened because she use to scratch her scalp very forceful a lot and that might contribute to the breakage 🥴🥴
