It's all dependant on the owners level of care. I left a pair of Oakleys in the car on a very hot day and they slowly started to blister, no fault of my own. I then bought 2 pairs of Arnettes about 4 years ago which are still like brand new. Look after them with love and they will outlast you,

i've had my rb rounds, which i wear almost daily, for almost 3 years. there's no evidence of wear as i frequently clean them with soap and water due to my oily skin smudging up the lenses. most sunglasses with the flash mirror coating are more prone to visible wear in general. yours look pretty normal to me. i'm ocd and baby my pricey possessions so there's that 🤓.

Older ones got really good quality , I got two of them (aviators) one like 25 year old and one bought in 2017-18 , the older one is solid and it can be feel by touching hinges and nose pads , even glass but new one is just trash . The rods started turning green because of sweat and its colour also started removing a bit , I asked few of my friends though they also found Same things in their pairs

I have generally purchased Oakley, however I have always had issues when it came time to either invest in another pair or get new lenses. First, models come and go. Apparently the models I wear tend to go. Second, they do not offer replacement lenses for all of their sunglasses. Or, perhaps I should say that a couple of years down the road, perhaps after discontinuing a model, they no longer make replacement lenses. Had I known any of this was going to be the case, I would not have bought them in the first place. If RayBan supports their sunglasses with replacement lenses, I may not care if their lenses, perhaps, take less abuse than Oakley.

Huge fan of your work as someone with blue eyes, the pigment issue makes shades almost always essential for me outdoors. Love the reviews and authenticity of them in general. I'll admit I've hardly ever had a pair last me more than a year or two. I guess I can count myself among the fortunate who can afford 300$+ on shades twice per year. I try to make them last but like most people I'll end up breaking them or losing them. I have yet to even be able to review after two years for these reasons. With wear and tear I feel like a year is the most I expect which for the price is fair. I'd pay a dollar per day for good eye protection and that averages out to 365$ which can go a long way for shades.

The mirrored coating on most name brand sunglass lenses is designed to get scratched and chipped. It's the manufacturer's way of trying to get you to spend more money on replacements. The aftermarket lens industry has literally exploded in recent years to take advantage of this.

I have the exact same model, but polarized. A such, they have glass lenses that would most definitely not wear down like that. I also exchanged my pair for a new one after a few weeks, because sweat infiltrated underneath the transparent temple tips and it caught a green oxidation thingy, because those tips are pretty loose and they are not watertight. Nonetheless, if you a re a little on the OCD side, like me, and handle the sunglasses like a newborn, they won't wear down much, honestly.

Look at that thumbnail. Doesn’t get more clickbait than that.. you didn’t give any substantive reasons to avoid Ray Ban, you spent almost 5 minutes on this pair and the only negative was that the lense got dinged up. I was looking for a deeper dive into why I should avoid the brand, pros-cons over other aviators or other brands..

I just bought my wife a pair of Randolph Concordes in cobalt flash mirror, I'm hoping they hold up a little better than these Ray Bans. I've had a variety of Ray ban aviators (2 pairs of brown, one pair of grey gradients) last 5+ years with minimal wear. Basically I drop them every so often and there are small scratches on the lens that are only noticeable upon close inspection. I'd clean them maybe once a week. I had a pair of Oliver Peoples in a similar style that seemed no better quality for some 8 years before I gave them away to a girlfriend.

I just changed out my stock lenses on my straight jackets after almost 4 years the only evidence of wear was around the inside area where the lenses meet the frame. I suppose Bausch is a different world. i own a pair of modern ones but..not the same. Shame the way and care those lenses were made is not done now. Diamond Hard, now it's all cheap.. and so expensive too.

@@ShadeReview Thanks, I’ll keep it in my mind! I’ll return it anyway but really don’t know what to get instead. Lens wise the 58 mm perfect but the temples are too tight, squeezing the side of my head, leaving marks, really painful. I also ordered the 62 mm and the lens is a bit too big but the temples still too tight. Tried to adjust but didn’t help. Not sure if the new Aviators would make any difference due to the different temple design. I highly doubt it as the dimensions are identical. Maybe I need to look around at different brands, thinking about Maui Jim Mavericks or Serengeti Carrera instead.

Glad mine just came in the mail today. Bought them from jomashop like you recommended but I can't say I believe they're 100% real. The case seems thinner compared to my ray ban justin case, and the hinges didnt snap on opening Edit: in fact, I know they aren't real. You promoted a website that sells non-authentic products and I figured I could trust someone that bases their entire channel around sunglasses reviews :/ $100 for fake shit
