Nice video. I see some similar comments about mixing the techniques, and I'd say the same: the same first few steps with the airbrush, maybe even SLIGHTLY lighter in the mid-tones, followed by a thinned wash/contrast (50/50, or maybe ever 60% thinner/water to 40% contrast - if you use the new Agrax I don't think you would need much thinner at all, and very little if so) just to bring out the textures a bit more in the lighter areas, and THEN do those few thin lines for highlights. You could also drybrush, of course, but the "classic" thin line highlight looks crisper and neater, so if you've got the time do that instead. Then also the same for the face as the airbrush version; white ink followed by Aethermatic Blue, maybe even a 2nd very careful layer in some of the deepest recesses. But overall a great result for anyone looking for a good tabletop standard, like you said! :)

Love the video. Good tone, good explanation, good ambiance music. I'll watch some more ! Also, I like the conclusion. Those techniques are differents and have differents looking, there is not a better one, it's just a matter of taste

Value sketching before your first contrast coat of brown would do wonders.

Would be interresting to see a combination. All the airbrushing first for nice gradients, then a 50/50 brown contrast with contrast medium for dark recesses and then a light drybrushing for edge highlights. :-)

I was hoping to catch which paints you were using. I'd suggest flashing the jar for a sec, or putting the name on the screen while you're using it.

Very nice Dryads. You make me want to go out and get a box to try your techniques. I do have a question on the first model and that is what color did you use to do the first drybrush?

Airbrush novice here are well! Could you perhaps say some words on what what ink you've used and at how much PSI you sprayed it? I've been having massive issues with Liquitex, especially also because painting over it rehydrates and lifts it. Excellent results on your Dryads! I like them both equally!

The white I used was Liquitex too, and I have the exact same problem, I found I either have to leave the model overnight to fully dry, or do a varnish over the top to protect the ink. I also mainly spray at 20psi unless it's a varnish then I usually spray at 30psi

To me combining both airbrush and drybrush whilst painting Sylvaneth is the way to go. The details on the models make for great drybrushing to get all those edges highlighted.
