I love how Trevor is slowly trying to actually get you guys to learn the stuff that he's teaching. Like Jason having to shake the ice, or having you guys make the old fashions in the 5 bottle bar episode. Also, the blue apron ad was perfect. I wish we could see you guys cook more specifically because Brian said it was his Kryptonite. Maybe he'd feel better about it after spending some time deliberately practicing in the kitchen!

One of the few channels where I don't skip the sponsor plug... because they usually make it fun to watch, especially this time.

The best part was you seasoning your food with the Bug-A-Salt; because my Dad and I thought about doing that when I got one for Christmas. I now have to share your video so he can watch the "ad".

The only channel that makes a sponsor segment in a video truly enjoyable. I loved every second of it!

Out of all the blue apron "commercials" I have seen this is by far the best actually showing the process of preparing the food and being witty and yourselves it's awesome I applaud you modern rogue

would you guys consider doing a beard/hair tending/trimming/cutting video? i heard that taking care of a beard takes a bit of work and it would be interesting to see what actually goes down! (i don't have a beard but i have friends who do...)

I remember the first time I found out about the Harvey Wallbanger. I laughed for a good five minutes because I'm absolutely immature.

Finally after hearing so much about Tittos vodka, I'm starting to see it in pubs and stores in the UK when I hadn't seen it before

I had a screwdriver once. For some reason I can't find my Phillips head whenever I need it.... Seriously though I stopped drinking Cranberry juice when I took a look at the sugar content.

I'm astonished you guys find great guests. I learned by watching your videos that you can be knowledgeable and camera-friendly!

I love the cocktail episodes

I *want* to like you guys + crew. I know I'm just one in a bazillion, but: I haven't been able to watch a lot of your stuff because it all seems like "easy" work, and/or alcohol-related. A "oh wow, use this flavoring and apply simple physics and stretch the concept to 3 other 'episodes' to the point it's so watered down who's going to care" kind of way. It just feels like you've found a groove in a boulder and rested on it. You need to get up and chisel at it. Love you!

I would be interested to hear which episodes in particular you feel this way about (we don't do too many multi-episode series.) I think you might have a fundamental misunderstanding of what we're doing with the channel, which might explain why you feel this way. This sounds like you expect our videos to be lessons that we are teaching our audience, how to's of a sort, but really we're just showing Brian and Jason learning those things (not teaching). It's an important distinction to make. It might be stretched out or watered down to you because we aren't hitting explanations by the numbers, because it's a process to go from complete ignorance to having a solid foundation of understanding, and not everybody gets there by just running down the bullet points. There are excellent channels out there that cover that methodology of teaching, and they are typically run by people who really know what they're doing, but that's not our strong suit and it would be disingenuous for us to pose as such. There are the occasional episodes where we approach it with a bit more knowledge beforehand (our passwords episode comes to mind, where I personally injected a very dense delivery of information.) Generally speaking though, we're interested in making a wide variety of topics accessible to people by showing that you don't already need to be an expert to be interested in the subject, and even through fumbling and failure there is valuable information to gain.

Any Harvey Wallbangers I had back in the 80s had the Galliano mixed into the drink, not sitting in top. Much better flavor. Though it really was more popular in the 60s/70s.

On the next Modern Rogue, Brian learns knife skills.

I am thrilled to see Leopold Bros get a shout-out here. I was a customer at their restaurant-cum-distillery (or is it vice versa?) in Michigan, where they were forced out due to high rent and relocated to Colorado. I was sad to see them go -- and actually bought a ton of their glassware and dishware, which I still use today in my kitchen and home bar. Every time I use a snifter or Irish whiskey glass, I think of them. I also still nurse bottles of their Georgia Peach and Cherry liqueurs, as well as a stockpile of their absinthe, having used up their infused-brandy-which--is-legally-not-gin (which they now legally call gin). Highly recommend all of the above, although not all in the same drink. Whoa.

Vodka isn't as odor-less as you think. I can always smell it from a across the room and always taste it regardless of how filtered it is.

This makes me really want a Modern Rogue Cooking Series. You guys could definitely be partners with Blue Apron... "If we can do it, you definitely can."

hey modern rogue, nice video i really appreciate youre work and sorry for my bad english but..... i am italian, i live in italy and i had a bar for about 10 years and i never, never even hear about Galliano. So i did my research and i've learned that it is not so popular in italy like other ''amari'' like Averna, Petrus, Unicum, Cynar or Fernet-Branca, but it's made in the Netherlands and it's famous in north Europe and in America.... Well like we say ''non si finisce mai di imparare''.....you will never stop learning:)

Bug-a-salt's are the only proper way to apply salt to food.

They’re so obviously drunk in the blue apron ad, and I find this hilarious

The bar there in is hidden as a floppy disk repair co right next to the handle bar but you need a code to get in but that changes every week or so

The one channel where the sponsored commercial bits are actually entertaining right with the show.

I got distracted for like 5 minutes and I come back to see Jason and Bryan cooking fish. I read the title and I was very confused on how they were making vodka cocktails

Jason at the end, oh that was funny.

When they tell to discharge the kale it's just another way to say that you need to make it less smug.

You guys found a way to make the Blue Apron ad really fun and interesting - I just wish we could've had some slightly longer bits at the bar before and after. Maybe some more complex drink recipes with an ad intermission so that it's closer to a 20, 22-minute video? I should probably be tweeting at Bryce and Brant about this, huh.

I mean, ideally sure. This is the last of our cocktail episodes we filmed *6 months ago* and the sponsorship was a pretty recent deal (like a week ago) so we paired it with the most on-theme episode we currently have available in our backlog.
