Something hard to explain but rewarding when executed... is conditioning. Know the opponents recovery and options. Then bait and punish. Treat options like a 50/50 low high or RPS aka jump/attack/recover
@TheTrickmeister
3 жыл бұрын
marshall coleman probably the simplest way of explaining conditioning is letting the opponent get away with a certain option for some time, then punishing the option later on after baiting it. Best saved for taking stocks.

Because it’s works for Doc, also but no need to call out someone with a spike. They just die to star KO and that’s what’s fun about fairing with Mario, at ledge cause if it hits they get massively fudged up. Plus it’s just funny af when you kill with sour spot fair as Mario. Cause it’s just baby doc fair . Kek
The audio is clean. The editing is crisp, and the content is on point. +1 sub
This was great, I like how the two tips really just boil down to "edgeguard at the right time" but you take it at both ends of the spectrum and work out the issues at both extremes and, more importantly, what you can do to fix them

Love it! Suggestions for videos: 1. Specific tricks you can use to edgeguard against specific characters 2. Specific tricks you can you AS certain characters For example if someone has a counter they can jump out and use it against Ridley's up b Or Ness can use charged down Smash yo yo for most recoveries.
Super educative, thank you, Bananaboy! :)

Any edge guarders in the chat?
*This guy inspires me to play quickplay, then when I do that I get matched with a Ness that has items, FS Meter, and 1 minute.*
I love hitting a neutral B limit with cloud when they try to jump at me, it’s so satisfying.
One thing you can also do is mix-up when you edge guard alongside your ledge trap game or vice verse. I usually ledge trap a lot to make the opponent think I'm waiting, than once in a while, I'll go off-stage to attempt a edge guard when the opponent doesn't expect it, and possibly get a stock. I've done this a lot in friendlies, locals (before the pandemic happened), and recently a wifi regional bracket, and I won some rounds and took stocks because of it. It's the same case as this video, mixup your ledge trap and edge guard attempt to bait opponents to secure the stock or maintain stage control.

Thanks for this
That clip at about 8:00 in the video made me think about how being put in a tech scenario can work, because if you hit the tech, your opponent becomes very punishable. In this example, Captain Falcon is caught up in Ganondorf's Up-B, but Falcon hit the tech, so he could easily go for either a B-Air or F-Air, depending on whether or not he grabbed the ledge.
Thank you so much
the background music is very epic

UR BACK TO THE BLUE YOSHI
3 years will you ever come back or are you done with smash and or youtube?
Quick tip: a great way to bait options from your opponent offstage without putting yourself at risk is to empty jump offstage and immediately come back. Lots of players will see you coming after them and will pick an option before they realize it was a ruse
It's ok I really like that book too

Any edge guarders in the chat?
Great vid you should make a video on how to be in the ness position in the ness vs Luigi situation.
i like how in smash there is even footsies in the air that i never thought of thanks
Just a suggestion for a video because this is something that is probably my biggest issue, but how should you go about picking a secondary, or a second main? I like too many characters, so I can just never decide on just one, and I don't think that's working out for me in competitive. For example, for WiFi, I play Lucas more so than Byleth, but I'm thinking about Isabelle. The problem with this is that I'm mostly losing the same matchups. Do you have any advice for this? Could also make it more focused on addressing covering matchups but whatever works better :)
As soon as i started paying more attention to my opponent, i got my first character into elite smash (and it wasn’t even a main so you already know i have a couple in there now)
First vid I watched, subbed and liked just cause of the end. Yikes man
10:41 diddy does make it back

Damnit! Now everyone knows how to edgeguard my 2 mains! Helpful vid tho!
I get his channel is to provide tips but personally I’d love to see some gameplay from him
You know what’s funny ness and Luigi are two of my mains
what graphics settings do you use for your videos? they all look amazing
It may not seem like it, but this really separates the bad from the good players.
DAMN YOU LUIGI
Bro the contrast
This video makes me think of a time where I back-throwed Little Mac as Pichu and then spiked him 3 times in a row, at 0%.
BananaBoy: Ok make sure to watch out for Chrom's up b, its very dangerous Incineroar mains: I'm about to end this man's whole career
6:21 _laughs in Steve_
Can you make a video for me on not just throwing stuff out but making more concious decisions in neutral?
I wanna see a video where you train an amiibo
The poop race got my sub 👍🏼

yk i really wish i spent as much time studying in school as i do studying smash attacks and patterns
