I'll keep my slow simple reliable 3.8. The more complex 3.6 VVT with all the issues plus the ones you spoke about. I choose reliability over 30 horsepower. 07JK 3.8 all the way. ✌❤🙂

I believe the other ones have 100,000 miles. I've never change the plugs until last week. Hope changing plugs doesn't affect reliability LOL. It's been flawless✌❤😃

Yep, I have a 2016 and 2010 Wranglers, I like the “slow” 3.8 much better, so much easier to work on than the 3.6, and not as much plastic. I can change all 6 plugs and the exhaust manifolds without taking 1/2 of the motor apart.

We have a 2017 Grand Cherokee and love it. Am knocking on the door of 70, time to abandon motorcycles and just bought a 2015 JKU Sahara Altitude. I think it will be a nice change right up our alley. It will be much different from a CJ 7 we had years ago. 😅

Agreed, I have a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Sahara and just spent $3700. On the ticking engine work. Just before I had to replace the radiator it was making an airplane landing noise. Overall I do love my jeep just several issues that you mentioned 👍 I might look into a Getting a Rubicon thanks

Hi JC, thanks for the video. I am in the market to buy my first Jeep and came across your video. Im looking at a 2011 Sahara 3.8 Anniversary Edition, awesome gold color with a hard top automatic. I know now they are slow after your video, that can be ok with me if the engine is reliable till 124000 miles, it has on 72000 miles atm with a FSH. My use would be work and back plus to now and then weekend trip on road and off road. I like the look and want to try something different than the normal SUV or Double cab. My question is for you please if the Sahara will hold its value more or less after 3 years of which i will probably put on 7500 miles per year at most. Current purchasing price is 12200 dollars.

I’m on my third Jeep and second wrangler. Wranglers are basically toys. If you want something that’s fun to drive, looks cool, and is easy to modify and customize then you’ll likely enjoy owning and driving a wrangler. If you’re wanting a daily driver with a comfortable ride and good gas mileage, then you likely won’t be happy driving a wrangler. It’s essential to do your homework before buying a used wrangler. Be very leery of highly customized wranglers that have been extensively off roaded. Check the undercarriage for damage and scratches.

@@adambaseball3000 I already have a 2016 JKU 75th Anniversary Edition, could not find a decent 2005/2006, either high miles (150k+), or a frame that was a bit “crispy”, so got a low mileage (60k miles) 2010 JK Rubicon, that is SPOTLESS !! Yeah, it’s the 3.8, but in great shape, and the JK (2 door, so acceptable), I love it, it was obviously garaged and well taken care of, my mechanic that checked it prior to me buying it even said it is in great shape, I say buy it. There is not a scratch or spot of rust (other than fuel tank skid plate, which is unavoidable, which I plan to eventually replace). The 2nd day of ownership, I changed the spark plugs and wires, I serviced the differentials, transfer case, serviced the brakes (cleaned and greased the guide pins, checked & cleaned the calipers, pads & rotors), swapped out 6 quarts of ATF+4 (3 quarts via dipstick tube, drove around a bit, then did another 3 quarts with Mopar ATF+4, I plan to drop the pan and change the filter in the next 10k miles) and changed the oil with a good synthetic. All the fluids looked in great shape prior to me changing, but I like to establish my own starting point, I bought a new soft top, old one was leaking a bit, and the stupid EGR valve gave me a problem, threw a P0401 code, but easy enough to swap, so I changed myself, as well as the EGR tube, 2 hours and a $150 part, no big deal. The Place I bought it from offered to change it, but I just did it myself. I like working on my vehicles, I know they’re getting fixed correctly, with quality parts ( OEM or good brand aftermarket) and quality synthetic fluids and Filters.
