I went from a Volkswagen Touareg which started costing me a fortune in repairs to a Wrangler JKU and love it... completely different ride but lots of fun on mountain trails in Arizona.
Hi I got a 2015 JK and I really like it!! Great video ❤
Thankz for the good advise, im looking to buy one bt doing some reseach, nd thanks for that....Gb
I'll keep my slow simple reliable 3.8. The more complex 3.6 VVT with all the issues plus the ones you spoke about. I choose reliability over 30 horsepower. 07JK 3.8 all the way. ✌❤🙂

@@mitchellhott 106334.... runs like a champ. Recently put Pacesetter long tube headers spintech Muffler sounds awesome. Gained 4mpg. A new set of spark plugs. I believe the other ones have 100,000 miles. I've never change the plugs until last week. Hope changing plugs doesn't affect reliability LOL. It's been flawless✌❤😃

Yep, I have a 2016 and 2010 Wranglers, I like the “slow” 3.8 much better, so much easier to work on than the 3.6, and not as much plastic. I can change all 6 plugs and the exhaust manifolds without taking 1/2 of the motor apart.
We have a 2017 Grand Cherokee and love it. Am knocking on the door of 70, time to abandon motorcycles and just bought a 2015 JKU Sahara Altitude. I think it will be a nice change right up our alley. It will be much different from a CJ 7 we had years ago. 😅
Agreed, I have a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Sahara and just spent $3700. On the ticking engine work. Just before I had to replace the radiator it was making an airplane landing noise. Overall I do love my jeep just several issues that you mentioned 👍 I might look into a Getting a Rubicon thanks

Rubicon is expensive
I bought a jeep jk because i love the look and i had a bad experience with unexpected snow a couple of years ago. Also i have other vehicles so im not reliant on it and i have always liked wrenching on cars anyway and with the aftermarket, i have lots of options.
I daily a 2007 jku. Lifted, 35s it gets up and goes just fine. It is the automatic which came with 4.10 gearing. In the future I’ll be regearing it to 4.88
Id like to get one. I love the look of them. Ive always made the "sensible" choice when it comes to cars but for once id like a cool vehicle. Im concerned that im going to get one and things are going to start breaking and ill be ass out. Been looking at 2015 to 2018 with about 50k on them. Sport model and Sahara.
3.8 is a great engine if youre looking to do a tdi swap, im in the hunt for my cheap jeep so i can build my tdi jeep lol. Great video bro , thanks
They are not sports cars, but for primarily off road, they handle quite well
Engine oil cooler / oil filter housing ALWAYS leak on the 3.6. Watch out for it.
Exactly I will see before you buy rent one for a week and after make your decision
Hello Thanks for the video . Very interesting. Is a jeep wrangler jk 2.8 l good one ? Here in Morocco we only have that type of engine . I tried it once but i feel it very slow . I am a lady and I think it s has a very rigid drive . Thank you
How’s the automatic transmission hold up in the jeeps? Miles? How tuff are they?
I’m looking at 2016 jeep rubicon it has 110k miles will this engine run a long time do rockers and oil cooler go out alot
Hello I love the looks of Jeeps, however, please suggest a good place rent a jeep that I can use on off road trails. That way I can rent and see if the ride suits me. Please advise
After owning a jk with the 3.6 I wish I'd gotten one with the slow reliable 3.8

The 3.8 for sure is reliable and it’s cheap to work on!
Hi JC, thanks for the video. I am in the market to buy my first Jeep and came across your video. Im looking at a 2011 Sahara 3.8 Anniversary Edition, awesome gold color with a hard top automatic. I know now they are slow after your video, that can be ok with me if the engine is reliable till 124000 miles, it has on 72000 miles atm with a FSH. My use would be work and back plus to now and then weekend trip on road and off road. I like the look and want to try something different than the normal SUV or Double cab. My question is for you please if the Sahara will hold its value more or less after 3 years of which i will probably put on 7500 miles per year at most. Current purchasing price is 12200 dollars.

3.6 ? I would say the oil cooler issue is number 1.
Were did you get the bonnet from?
Good to earth advice. May God bless you and your family. Best regards.
Where did you get the hood from. I have a 2015 JK.
I just read that the 2012-2013 had a lot of problems with the heads. Is that true?
Is there a lift kit you would recommend for a 2 door JK for a DYI. Not looking for anything fancy, have 33" tires and would like no more than 2" lift. Not rock crawling or driving off-road.
@jcjeeps
Жыл бұрын
I would recommend the AEV 2.5in lift. It’s the best riding lift out there for the price!
Found a 06 jeep wrangler for 8k really nice looking until you look under and the frame is rusted out and it's at a dealership... not good.
...and the oil filter housing/cooler plus oil pump if driven in hot climates under load or not serviced by a reputable mechanic who might have used the wrong oil filter.

What’s your thought on the 2014 wrangler unlimited sport. Next Generation Dana® 44 Heavy Duty Rear Axle Next Generation Dana® 30 Solid Front Axle 3.21 Axle Ratio. Is this good for resale?

Ideally the rubicon is best on resale but if it’s a good enough price it could be good resale
What about 2.8 crd
GETTING TO THE POINT IS VERY VERY GOOD / MOST GUYS GO ON AND ON FOREVER WITH B/S IT BECOMES A TURN OFF / TO THE POINTAND ON THE MONEY IS THE WAY TO GO / MANY THANKS / I WILL SUBSCRIBE AND A THUMBS UP
I’m on my third Jeep and second wrangler. Wranglers are basically toys. If you want something that’s fun to drive, looks cool, and is easy to modify and customize then you’ll likely enjoy owning and driving a wrangler. If you’re wanting a daily driver with a comfortable ride and good gas mileage, then you likely won’t be happy driving a wrangler. It’s essential to do your homework before buying a used wrangler. Be very leery of highly customized wranglers that have been extensively off roaded. Check the undercarriage for damage and scratches.

That’s not a bad deal as long as the rust is surface and not rotting.
I want a 2006 with a 4.0L and low mileage with a decent frame. I found one with 58K miles, but the frame had that bullshit coating, and I walked away fearing it was covering a load of hurt.

@queensapphire7717

@@adambaseball3000 I already have a 2016 JKU 75th Anniversary Edition, could not find a decent 2005/2006, either high miles (150k+), or a frame that was a bit “crispy”, so got a low mileage (60k miles) 2010 JK Rubicon, that is SPOTLESS !! Yeah, it’s the 3.8, but in great shape, and the JK (2 door, so acceptable), I love it, it was obviously garaged and well taken care of, my mechanic that checked it prior to me buying it even said it is in great shape, I say buy it. There is not a scratch or spot of rust (other than fuel tank skid plate, which is unavoidable, which I plan to eventually replace). The 2nd day of ownership, I changed the spark plugs and wires, I serviced the differentials, transfer case, serviced the brakes (cleaned and greased the guide pins, checked & cleaned the calipers, pads & rotors), swapped out 6 quarts of ATF+4 (3 quarts via dipstick tube, drove around a bit, then did another 3 quarts with Mopar ATF+4, I plan to drop the pan and change the filter in the next 10k miles) and changed the oil with a good synthetic. All the fluids looked in great shape prior to me changing, but I like to establish my own starting point, I bought a new soft top, old one was leaking a bit, and the stupid EGR valve gave me a problem, threw a P0401 code, but easy enough to swap, so I changed myself, as well as the EGR tube, 2 hours and a $150 part, no big deal. The Place I bought it from offered to change it, but I just did it myself. I like working on my vehicles, I know they’re getting fixed correctly, with quality parts ( OEM or good brand aftermarket) and quality synthetic fluids and Filters.
What are the best years for the 3.6

3.8 kills it. If in low range what's the issue? At 0 to 25 mph.

I'm looking to buy one shortly and have seen several for sale with over 200k miles!
Manual. 115 degree desert heat doesn't fry the manual.
Handle like a Range Rover, you mean it runs ? ;)
I really want a jeep but i havent seen anything on KZread or online guving me a reason to. Everyone and everything is saying not to get one... even jeep owners.
Jeep Just empty every pocket lol I love my XJ but all jeeps are money pits unless you keep it bone stock and who the hell does that lol
2009 2dr champ. Owned trucks 4runner will never not own a jeep. Stock. If you can't drive this thing there on good tires don't go. With those snow boards you can get over almost any normal obstacle.
I wanna get a used one with 190k on it. Is it too much for a 2012 3.6L ?

Hi I saw your video I try to buy a jeep 2013 with 104k for $16250
First, know what it’s called. If it has 4 doors, it’s a JKU.
Haha, how does it handle? Um, Like a Jeep. Ha
Had a 2010 and it was perfect engine was easy to work on and was a champ till a red light runner hit us now we have a 2012 and its trash engine issues and had to work on AC sucks makes noise. Wish I got a toyota Tacoma quality built still
The 3.6 is less reliable than the 3.8 liter, if you need more power, chip it!
Im between jeep or Tacoma
