    Thanks for the video. I bought my ASUS (ZenWifi AX Mini) as it was in my price-point and 'included' trend micro protection I recognized from other ASUS routers I have owned. Unfortunately it isn't a FULL version (on this specific router) so not all the features you reviewed were available. Not an issue with your review - that was great - just a note to folks who might experience a slightly different trend micro product in their ASUS router.

    Best part of Asus is how friendly they are for VPNs, they use chipsets that are designed to specifically handle the whole home encryption/decryption from having VPN loaded on router directly. With a 200mbps plan I was getting over 150mbps while using a mainstream VPN service, rly not all that bad. Asus really does tech well, and has for more than a 15 minutes of fame, they're in it for the long haul!

    Great video and explanations. Does these routers provide a hard wired direct connection? and can the wi-portion be turned off and on easily, say via button on the actual router? Thanks for your input in advance. If these 2 routers dont offer what I am asking you about, what would be your recommendation for mostly wired connection and occasional wi-fi usage? I have 1200 sq feet home. 2 story. Ok these are way too pricey for me needs, Can you please recommend one that supports one connection from the modem to the router, then 4 ports that I can use wired connections to that, and one that has a wi fi option that I can turn on and off as needed with a button on the actual router?

    Do you suggest a Broadband Modem (i'm on Fibre Broadband (VDSL)) to go with this 'MESH WiFi' system or would you just use the Modem part of the free Modem/Router my ISP sent me and just tell it not to give out the IP addresses and leave that to the Asus Router/s ?

  • @jimdandy8996

    Why do ISPs who provide routers only allow router adjustments through their app that you have to put on your phone instead of also allowing you to do it over your home PC? I don't trust that. They want to know your phone and what you do with it.

    for many people an app is simpler to use. In most cases you can still use a web browser to get to your router and make the changes - even if the company has an app. I know that is true for AT&T and Spectrum in the US (I have both)

    @@HappyVibeRaider You can try contacting the FCC (Federal Communications Commission ) if you're in the USA. If they are truly jamming your WiFi, it is a violation of Federal code. They also have the needed equipment to determine the cause of the jamming.

    What about Wi-Fi modems?

  • @LironSegev

    @LironSegev

    6 ай бұрын

    not sure what a wifi modem is. There is a modem that translates the signal from your service provider into data. There is a WiFi that gives you the ability to connect via wifi. There is a cellular modem so that you can connect to the internet via the cell data and that may have WiFi capabilities so you can connect to it via wifi. But there isn't such a thing as wifi modem. So I am not sure what you are referring to. Let me know

    who in their right mind uses the equipment provided by the ISP? 🤦‍♂️ That equipment is usually crap and you have zero control over it. Most smart people simply use the modem from the ISP and get their own routers.
