Andra Day sang Rise up with an inspirational touch, while Morissette gave the song a more hopeful touch and storytelling type of singing
The way Mori sang this song is wonderful and awesome. You can see and feel her heart and soul with all the emotions in every lyric of the song. She literally owned the song in this performance. Nakaupo pa siya niyan ha. Kumbaga, naka llamado na ang original dahil nakatayo at may band na nakaagapay. And i heard that Mori was even sick when she sang this song, whew! Makes me proud to be a PINOY!

Hmmmm, no it isn’t bad to say. Music is subjective, just like art. Me, I personally disagree. While Morissette is a good singer in her own right, she can’t compete with Andra. Andra’s original of the song reaches down into your heart and deep into your soul. I have to close my eyes and ride the wave her voice brings. It’s pure emotion! No cover has done this and I don’t think one ever will. Morissette attempts it, but she’s hitting those early Aguilera notes. It doesn’t make me feel anything, just has a pop-ish feel to it. To me music is about emotion and Morissette doesn’t tick that box here.
This is not to compare who's is singing better 😂, Just enjoy a grandma using her stumble and soulful voice to sang his own song. While on the other side, A granddaughter using her empowerment techniques to rise up to another level. That is why you can feel the grid aggressiveness 😊

While Morrissette's version is impeccable of course...the emotional magic that Andra delivers in the original is missing for me. Morisette is more technical/flashy. But, Andra adds the absolute pure and raw emotion behind the song. My opinion at least. Love them both though.

Andra Day's version felt flat and was totally devoid of any emotion, imho.
Andra may have written it but Morissette sung it.
Morisette is better than the original
Morisette is the better singer, and better rendition of the song . If just happened she sang it first, maybe the first singer will not sang it.
