2 SCOTTISH COUSINS TAKE ANCESTRY DNA TEST

It is all the latest craze to find out more where we come from using ancestry DNA kits!
John and Brian the Scottish cousins who founded Sancta Familia Media take the test!
What will the results be? Are they even cousins?!

Genes don’t always remain from each ancestor since you only get half from each parent. You could have a Spanish ancestor but as the deck is shuffled each generation, her actual genes may be gone. She’d still be your ancestor though which does seem odd!

Funny , guys! My wife and I await our results from the same company. Previously, we had gone through AncestryDNA.com, and I turned out to be 53% British Isles, 23% Scandinavian, and 17% Eastern European. Naturally, this has fueled a family history search, and we are planning a 2020 Scotland trip, so maybe we'll drop by for Mass. Your ministry is so valuable, and I enjoy all you do! God bless!

Could be the result of the many waves of immigration throughout the years from Spain into Ireland, and in turn Scotland I think. The Celts are a bit of a mystery anyway, as they obviously made their way through Europe due to the Celtic regions in France (Brittany) and Spain (the Basque region I think). They reckon that the Celts might have first originated as an ethnic group in and around Austria and more South Eastern Europe. It's the Germanic folks that are more likely to have blonde hair and blue eyes. I myself am probably at least 90% Celtic (I've never taken a proper test) and I have very dark, thick and quite curly (for a white girl) hair, dark grey eyes and I'm not terribly pale. Super interesting stuff to look into though!

I know for a fact I'm 50% Norwegian (Dad), 25% Scottish and 25% Lithuanian (Mom), just like your cousin who's 25% Lithuanian. That 1% Jewish means nothing. It doesn't mean that you have Jewish blood it just means that you share some of the same DNA haplogroups as Lithuanian Jews. Some common Lithuanian ancestor/cousin/uncle/aunt could have married into the Jewish community. The only true way to find out if you're part Jew is to do a more accurate blood DNA test which is more specific to you.
