I liked the fact Mario praised Joe's without hesitation as if he knows that New York is vastly big enough for the both of them. He seemed to realize that there's no reason to compete with a staple of NYC pizza in a city so big. His main selling point is selling ingredients, pizzas, and recipes. Joe's is just good pizza shop that sells by the slice.

Joe’s pizza was so good when I tried it. Definitely the best NY slice I have ever had, probably the best pizza I have ever had. That 24k gold pizza did not look good, they just made it flashy but didn’t care about taste.

I’m proud of the gold pizza guy to have the courage to say “Let’s see if it’s worth it or not”

I doubt they sell much of that, and they have to have in on hand for when someone wants it... those things will go bad so they have to mark it up alot for it to make sense for them to carry those items. i wouldn't buy it but obviously there are that would. it's not like they go buy all those ingredients for one pizza like that show does.

After reading a lot of the comments, and then rewatching this video, feels like Andrew and Steven were doing their best and almost struggling to describe and compliment the 24k pizza.

Great video, Joe’s looked like the perfect slice.. the others I’d still eat but if I had to choose there’d be no competition between the options.

That would seem bad, but 1 inch gold sheets are only about $25 for a pack of 4, so they'd only be tossing a few cents away

Oh man, I am a New Yorker at heart in so many ways having lived and loved it there for years. Eating a Joe's New York slice folded in half in the park opposite enjoying the fountain doing the lean with a paper plate? So great. Many great delicious slice spots in New York but Joe's is definitely on the top list in Manhattan in my humble opinion. The line ups seem to concur. They don't mess around so you don't wait long, and you get a great slice. I don't know exactly what it is but to me a New York slice is thin, not too many toppings, nice crispy crust but the point kind of flops a little, of course you fold it, and there is that little bit of delicious oil that you catch before it gets on your shoe. Also doesn't break the bank and you get a cheeky wink because they know it is good - there are classics. I remember having a clam pie for the first time 20 years ago somewhere else - had never heard of such a thing at the time before - delicious. xo NYC.

No offense but I think he gets annoying after some time. Also the justification of the burn didn't really get me to believe him, sure you can't avoid the pizza getting burnt but eating the burns can get u you to develop cancer if I recall correctly. Might be a fun guy to work with though , maybe relax others under the pressure of work

It's not hard to make an expensive dish if you just put some gold on it. The gold doesn't add anything to the taste, it's just decoration. You could just as well make a $10 million pizza by ordering from Domino's and put a large diamond in the middle of it.

Gold is completely inert so it wouldn't poison you. It just passes through without being broken down. There's no purpose to it other than to show how rich you are though. It has no taste. That pizza does look disgusting though, the ingredients don't belong on pizza. The $2 pizza is the best one in this video, by far.

If you watch Hell's Kitchen, they did a pizza episode and somebody with blackened edges on their pizza got praise from Gordon for being authentic (won as best of the day I think)... they did the whole drama fakeout before it was tasted that it was too burnt to present.

Mario's (from Rosso Pomodoro) comment about not discounting competition and welcoming it - priceless. They both have their own market and love the fact that he voiced it.

The best part of the video is the ending, the music, the pizza and busy streets of Newyork
