2 Old Ford Blue Bird B Series School buses

2X 66 Passenger Ford Blue Birds. These buses are finishing up there final years with this system. They are tired and have seen better days. They both are Cummins 5.9 powered (straight-piped) with mated Allison AT545's. Extremely reliable buses, always guaranteed a start in the cold! Wish it wasn't there last year! Much better then what they replaced. In the picture at the end, the sister bus of the one at the rear was retired, so I am assuming the one in the picture is next.

Nashawn03-12 My district is really good with up-keeping all the buses. These start in -20 degrees Ill tell you that! These buses have both been auctioned and are gone. We have done some crazy things with these buses, think offroading and peoples back yards.:)

Nice to see a couple old Ford buses in use still. Wish they still ran them around here, you don't see any Ford buses anymore. Ford frame and Cummins diesel = indestructible.

They defiantly were a great combo. This is there last year, then they are off to the auction/srcapyard! These two are also the one of the few buses that we have that don't have A/C. End of an era I guess.

That's a shame. I wish they wouldn't scrap them.
Ford and freightliner
You would like our old 1970s Chevy C60 band bus at my high school. We have a hard time finding drivers for it because not many of our drivers know how to drive stick. I think they just retired it this year because it was getting old and tired especially after carrying around band instruments for your entire life. I'm sure that it will still be around because its like the mascot for our band.

Roman Quinn Never been on a chevy bus! These ones have since been auctioned. We had some V8 big block stick shifts not too long ago!
back when they made buses with more metal instead of plastic. lol
lately we have been getting new bluebirds that are fully loaded

we get saf t liner hdx activity buses that are also fully loaded

and some c2s also fully loaded with dropdown chains
we get rid of buses at either 150k miles or 10 years whichever comes first
