Husker fan here. I miss the OU vs NU rivalry so much. I hated when the Big 8 went to Big 12 because our teams didn’t play every year anymore. When I learned that Nebraska was moving to the Big 10, the loss of this rivalry was the first thing I thought of. All those big games that we played against each other over all the many years hold a special memory for me. The Sooners were always hated by me as a kid in the 70’s & 80’s. Now I miss my old friends so much. You never know what you’ve got till it’s gone. Go Big Red (& go Sooners...unless you’re playing Nebraska)

So many great memories for me too. Watching the game the day after Thanksgiving with my mom. Her a Husker fan and me, a Sooner fan. Then, when they changed the day after Thanksgiving game to Nebraska v CU, it just wasn’t the same. Last year was good and, am looking forward to this years OU/ Nebraska game as well.

I am a born and bred Sooner. I sorely miss the Thanksgiving tradition that was the Ole OU-Neb game. We were rivals.. but there was respect. Nebraska families stayed with Oklahoma families in Norman.. and Oklahoma families stayed with Nebraska families when the game was in Lincoln.. and they would carpool together to the game. No cheap shots.. no taunting, but each player gave their best. I miss it.

Out of all the schools that switched conferences in the past decade, to me Nebraska leaving the Big 12 was the worst one for tradition's sake. They had so many great rivalries that they left behind and even now when they play a Big 10 heavy like Michigan or Ohio State there just isn't the same level of enthusiasm there. It is like Maryland in basketball leaving the ACC, same sort of thing.

We got lucky because some season ticket holders at our church couldn’t make it to the game, and gave us the tickets. It was this play where the energy of the whole arena shifted. It was like all the years of mediocre Gibbs’ seasons, the horrendous Schnellenberger and disgraceful Blake years... All that pressure was being released in one play. Everage, Ryan Fisher, and Michael Thompson were all conference types. Just a great great defense. On offense, give me a Josh Norman on my team any day. I wasnt sure about OU in the games prior to this one, I thought they were good but still wasnt getting my hopes up. When this game happened and I saw OU come back from a 14 point deficit and score 31 unanswered points against the #1 team in the nation, I knew then, in that moment, that we were going to win the national championship. Josh Heupel was just not going to allow the team to lose... period.
