Foi muito bonito Miguel, obrigada por partilhar. Não acredito que tenham durado tanto tempo! Faz-me lembrar o meu NYE em Atouguia. Não temos fogo de artifício no NYE em Ottawa, por causa do frio e do mau tempo habitual - os jovens estão nos clubes noturnos... os jovens pais estão com os amigos em casa e os mais velhos também estão bem aconchegados num lugar quente. Nesse ano, estava ao telefone com a família, quando se aproximava a meia-noite em Portugal, e de repente ouvi o primeiro fogo de artifício... Corri para o terceiro andar da casa que estava a alugar e olhei pela janela... Consegui ver o fogo de artifício não só na nossa cidade, mas também noutras. Fez-me sorrir (como todos os momentos especiais em Portugal)... e depois ouvia-se o ladrar dos cães, a quilómetros e quilómetros. É uma recordação especial que vou guardar para sempre. Não, nada de fogos de artifício na NYE. Acho que algumas pessoas vão adiá-los nas suas casas, mas a cidade não o faz. O fogo de artifício é lançado no Dia da Vitória, no Dia do Canadá e, penso, no Dia do Trabalhador. Além disso, o Casino do outro lado do rio costuma fazer uma série especial todos os Verões com música e fogo de artifício de outros países... creio eu. Nalguns anos, na véspera de Natal, pode estar -35 graus Celsius. Num Dia do Canadá, a minha irmã levou o meu pequeno Shitzu para a casa de campo e lançaram fogo de artifício. O Buddy ficou tão assustado que o perdeu durante 2 dias (felizmente só me disse quando voltei). Por muito bonitos que sejam, quero que os meus animais de estimação se sintam seguros e protegidos. Mal posso esperar para ver o que vais cozinhar na quinta-feira! Caio @@POVTours

@@POVTours I still hope to make it to the St. John’s Festival in Porto for my 80th birthday in June of this year. But my son and daughter are already thinking of us getting together in other places, such as Rome. That said, Rome gets too hot in the summer, so it probably won’t happen. Milan and Lake Como are still contenders. But I really hope it turns out to be Porto and Amarante, although Funchal is also a possibility that I would be happy to experience. Again, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

@@POVTours On a personal note, Miguel, please know that I wish with all my heart that I could financially support the wonderful work you do on KZread. Our immediate family was born of two families (my wife’s family and my family), neither of which was wealthy - I don’t mean that they were indigent, but they were by no stretch of the imagination wealthy. Fortunately, providence smiled on my wife and me and on the families of our son and our daughter. For this reason, we are generous and donate to charity. And when we eat at restaurants, we always tip more than “very well”, especially if the person serving us is middle age and obviously not exactly full of opportunities for bettering their financial situation. That said, I don’t understand money; I hate dealing with our family finances; and I have always burdened my wife with doing the latter. This being the case, I know that she would strongly object to me financially supporting any of my favorite KZread channels. All of that said, I thank you a million times for doing the work you do, and for keeping me connected with Portugal, a country with which I first fell in love in December of 2012. And I pray that this year and for every year to come providence looks kindly upon you and your family, as it has for such a long time watched over mine.

Ola Miguel, pela altura da camera, pensei que estivesses no cimo do Cristo. Bela queima fogos, aqui onde passei a passa- gem de fim de ano, não houve fogos por dois motivos, as balsas onde foram colocados os fogos, duas delas viraram por estarem próximo à rebentação, inteligência brasileira e o outro foi a proibição do governo para proteger os cães do baru- lho dos fogos, no entanto andam milhares pela rua, abandonados comendo o que lhes dão.Abçs e até breve.

Eu estava num miradouro completamente cheio de pessoas, tivemos todos a mesma ideia. 😀 Aqui também era suposto terem largados fogos de uns barcos ao largo de Almada, mas não aconteceu nada... grande desilusão. Abraços e até breve!

Viva! 😀 Pela mesma razão que o rio que passa em Londres se chama Thames, mas em Portugal chamamos Tamisa. Ou o rio que passa em Paris, o seu nome é Seine mas nós chamamos Sena. É normal os rios terem nomes adaptados à lingua de cada país. Os meus vídeos têm traduções para várias linguas, se vires as legendas em português verás que aparece Tejo. Sim, Tejo é o seu nome, mas apenas na língua portuguesa. Por exemplo, a maior parte dos espanhóis chama Tajo, já os galegos chamam Texo, e os aragoneses chamam Tacho. Ninguém em Espanha (onde o rio nasce) usa a palavra Tejo. Tagus é a palavra para Tejo na língua inglesa, e na minha opinião até seria o nome certo para usar em Portugal, pois é o nome original dado pelos romanos. Tejo, Tajo, Tacho e afins todos derivam de Tagus. 🙂
