Experienced leather worker here. Love your channel, and content. Your enthusiasm is awesome, and your interest to create new and interesting ways to accomplish tasks is impressive. But for MOST people your tools are way to expensive to have any value for them. (Key word MOST.) When I can do a lot of what I saw you do with stuff I already have. Then your items become pricey novelty items that won't stand the test of time. It works for you, great. What you have to ask is how do I convince thousands of leatherworkers to try my product. You have great concepts, you just gotta get with a larger manufacturing base and reduce your costs to something people will want to spend money on an unproven item. Up to you. I'd could see 60 for the square and maybe 40 for the centering rule.

Or …. you can buy 7 different tools that add up to all these offer. (And pay more in the end). Either way. I prefer efficiency, American made, and supporting the local leather community. 👍

I just read this post after buying two novelty items. Respect your opinion D Ollier (not throwing any shade here) and really we all have options/choices when working with tools, doesn't matter if its carpentry, metal etc. You can always buy Harbor Freight quality ( which I have ) or you can step up to Bosch, Festool for the longevity/durability. As an architect (my day job) and leather mangler (hobby) I appreciate the specs provided during the video, all up front so I know that I'm paying more and getting more for my money. Happy Tooling!

@D Oiller I have to agree with you. While I think these tools are outstanding for what they do. I could never afford $290 for 2 different rulers. Like you said $100 for both and I'd think they would sell 1,000 times more I just can't afford to pay almost $300 for a ruler set. I'm sorry Artie... I think your tips & toll ideas are great. They are out priced for 90% of us leather workers just starting this craft. Sadly I can see some Chinese company stealing your idea and manufacturing a set and sell for $30 real soon.

I love the Channel. As many have mentioned the price tag is high, but I believe your R&D as well as the quality is worth it, not to mention the support so you can continue to put out these videos. Great work! That’s completely understandable. We factor in all the costs of production, design, logistics free shipping to USA, and all the experience we added. And I prefer efficiency. So 7+ different tools in one is nice. And think if someone had to buy all those tools separately. Etc etc.

I have to agree, Wayne. I have the bump jigs and the arc jigs and so was expecting a similar price point. @@MasconLeather You've got to price things you be able to be profitable and also meet a custom order. How about creating a discounted pre-order, kind of like a self-funded kickstarter? I understand you can get the price lower when you apply economy of scale. So find out how many you need to sell in order to get the price down, then offer that price as a pre-order, contingent on getting the right amount of pre-orders. You make more sales, more people can afford to buy. WIN-WIN

I would love these, I wish I was at the stage in the craft to support high end "Leather Master" series tools. Many of us watching your videos are new to the craft and are desperately wading through the mountain of junk tools trying to find the rare affordable gems. Any chance you guys could create a more affordable series of tools for people like us? If you did you'd likely capture a huge market of new leatherworkers who will stick with you like glue as their experience and skills grow. I can only speak for myself but once I find a brand that offers me quality they get my loyalty and they are the first stop when its time for me to upgrade. I'm not asking for you to compete at the bottom, but a mid-range series from you guys would be a huge success and honestly? We need a company to step up and provide decent quality at affordable prices because right now it feels like its either junk or high end with very little in the middle when it comes to tools. Anyway, great video, hopefully one day I'll be able to justify the cost of your stuff, till then I'll hope for that mid-range series to show up on your site.

People just starting out in this craft get put off by how many different tools to purchase just to see if you like it or not. This set would take a lot of the unknown out of leather craft. And the " now I need this to do that " this would be great. So that when you realize you need something else , wow, you alredy have it. Unfortunately I think it costs to much for beginners. Maybe the Chinese will copy your idea and make an affordable version. Personally I like to support US products. But people will buy what they can afford. As impressed as I am with the thought involved in these rules, and your other tools, the price point is excessive. I see others have noted the same, I also know that your goal is not to please everyone, but just a selection. Too bad for those with a budget, I guess. Fantastic video content. Thank you.

I took your advice and ordered a Romanov stitching pony...and due to the ongoing war, it's stuck in transit...I'm just saying this to warn future purchasers of Romanov tools, so you all aren't in the same boat as me. Not trying to sound petty, just letting folks know what's going on :) thanks for your videos!

@@MasconLeather awe man thank you, you didn't have to do that! It feels like such a petty thing considering the war going on right now! I didn't want to seem like I cared more about my stitching pony than the horrible war thats going on over there :/

@@artieshell9205 oh I have no doubt in that, the man OBVIOUSLY takes extreme pride in his work! It shows with how beautiful the walnut pony is I purchased. I guess I was just assuming there was nothing that could be done, since it's already in the delivery companies hands...thanks again and I'll talk with him! I wasn't by any means harping on him, and I hope nobody including you and him took it that way :)

Square and centering ruler: zeebeeleather.com/tool-shop/leather-master-square zeebeeleather.com/tool-shop/leather-master-centering-rule

How does the centering work on 1/2” or 2” straps? And does it allow me to make say 7/8” spaced holes? Seems limited to only 3 strap widths, and only 1/4” spacing for holes. Maybe I’m missing something but seems pretty restrictive compared to other premium marking rulers that offer 1/64 increments and can be used on any strap width. And at 8 times the price nonetheless.

Patience…. We have more in the works. And “limited” to “only”? See the logistics involved here? And …. 95% of strap holes are at 1/4”, 1/2”x 3/4” or 1” intervals. If you’re making 1/2” wide watch straps…. Keep an eye out. But your being very contradictory. You mention: 2” wide straps and 1/8” measured (7/8”?????) holes. Really? Yeah. These aren’t for you. These are for the other 98% of users.

@@MasconLeather I guess my point is when most folks make 1/2” collars, the spacing for me anyway is 5/8” holes because they’re on a 6-8” neck. Or anyone who makes kilt belts or 1-3/4” belts would be limited. Thanks.

Bingo!!! See ???? You are RARE! And ironically, that’s a good thing. Look at what you wrote - “when most folks make ….” FYI. Most folks don’t make 1/2” …. And if you look at the leather crafting community as a whole (100,000+ leather crafters????), you’re making very rare specs. 95% make 1/4”, 1/2”, 3/4”, 1”, 1.25” straps. “Most folks “ are making bag straps. Belts. Buckles for bags. Etc. We can only do so much with what we have. And they’re spacing for buckles holes ? You get it. These aren’t for you. And that’s ok. 100%. But…. Keep an eye out. Look at my video and description and find the foreshadowing. Like my Easter eggs in all my videos. I hint at a lot. More is coming. 😉

@@MasconLeather I guess that’s why I stick to my INCRA American made marking ruler. $40 and let’s me do all of it. And it’s precise to 1/64 if I need that precision. You’ve made a decent product but could use some refinement I think. Just my $0.02…
