It's a Mk 6... THERMONUCLEAR... bomb. It uses a smaller fission nuclear bomb, inside it to initiate the exponentially larger hydrogen fusion detonation. Look up the Castle Bravo test just after the Korean War, as an example of that family of weapon systems. When accuracy got better with ICBMs the weapon yields got much smaller.

I got to watch a VERTREP weapons transfer when I was stationed on the Nimitz. Those helicopter pilots are amazing. Load of munitions swinging beneath the craft, and they knew just what inputs to make to set them down gently. Seriously one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen.

I'm retired and routinely watch my favorite KZread Channels in the morning while my wife is peacefully sleeping. This morning I accidently awoke her as a result of this video. I rarely laugh out loud and at high decibels. Good one guy's!

After wrecking my ship, I waited for the coast guard to reach me. Once I saw them on the horizon I was relieved, but things changed when I saw that it was Growling Sidewinder and Longshot. My response to seeing them was, "It's ok guys! I'd rather just drown." I knew that if I had been rescued by them, we'd crash before reaching the airfield.

I served in the Coast Guard from 97-2017 as a Gunnersmate. I was at an Air Station when we stood up the Airborne Use of Force program (shut down now except for HITRON that goes after drug boats). I've flown in MH-60's, MH-65's and even the C-130 as well as commissioned a National Security Cutter (like the one Longshot lit up at the start). And you two are by far the sorriest excuses for Coasties I've ever seen. But you were very entertaining. 🤣

Back in the 50’s, my dad flew C-123’s in Europe. He actually flew nukes around. Once, he had to carry a couple more than they were supposed to be able to, packed in a little tighter than was recommended. That flight was a real sphincter tingler.
