In 1948, May 5th was designated as ``respecting children's individuality.''
After the day was decided as a holiday to measure the happiness of the child and express gratitude to the mother.
It seems that the day of Boy's Festival also became Children's Day.
In the past, May 5th was ``Tango no Sekku''.
It was a day to celebrate and pray for the healthy growth and happiness of boys.
Since the Edo period, carp streamers have been used to express wishes for children's health and growth.
It seems that the custom of frying was born.
More than 3,000 carp streamers are displayed at Tsuetate Onsen during the festival.
