I appreciate your video. I'm on the verge of buying one of these, and you were very helpful . It's a bit confusing in that Samsung Canada does not offer a 14 version of the book 3 Pro. It is the same size as the ultra. Moreover, the track pad is off centre on both of them.

I have a 360 Pro - most are missing the point of the track pad location, and it is located in center of keyboard... If you consider only the keyboard and not number pad the trackpad is centered... Only thing I would like is more upgradability...

Very good video. A question. Would your conclusion be any different with the 16" instead of the 14" Book3 Pro? I'm interested in a 16" Book3 Pro, Pro360 or Ultra, or the 17" Dell XPS 9370, more money but I love that 17" screen in a near 15" form factor. But saving a grand and getting one of the Book3's is so darned tempting, for they do have so much going for them. Thanks

I think the conclusion still remains the same. If video editing is want you want to do the most especially at 4K then the Ultra is the way to go

@@LoverOfTech No, just heavy, long hours of general use online, lots of chrome 3 tabs open, lots of streaming stock quotes and charts and youtube videos of various types, lots of online search and research, some emailing and chatting, some writing, and some non work movie watching when I take a break, but no video or audio editing or photoshopping or heavy spreadsheet stuff. I wanted to get the Book3 Pro 360, not for the s-pen but for the touch and tenting ability in tight or awkward spaces, but the Pro 360 drops its HDMI from 2.0 down to 1.4 which though not a priority does suck. The other concern, the high gloss reflectivity of the screen. I wish they treated those beautiful amoled screens for anti-gloss, anti-reflection. On that point, do you know, are there after market treatments or films one can buy that noticeably help lessen the glare and reflection under lights or outdoors without noticeably hurting the picture quality, any idea? Thanks again.

Hey mate ! Can you charge the laptop and power an external usb C portable display ? My current laptop only one PD power slot and I can't do both which is a dealbreaker. It looks as though this laptop has 2 thunderbolt 4 so can charge on either port ?

I have the book 3 pro 16. Close to perfect laptop. I use it for engineering, so 2 ssd slots, numpad, and powerful cpu are perfect. It is a pity that the screen is so much reflective, so that you must not use dark theme and you must turn up brightness which increase eye strain. They really should have applied an anti reflective treatment, or at least have proposed a matte ips option. Hope next year it will be solved without changing the rest.

I have the same model. But, in some apps, the numpad doesn't work. It acts as arrow keys.

I'm trying so hard to convince myself to get a Galaxy Book pro as I'm in the Ecosystem. However, things like the bottom firing speakers, better trackpad, and brightness, have me leaning towards a MacBook. Not sure how Samsung decided to go with those design choices there. Frustrating really

I understand you so much. I've been through the same "convincing myself" process you're undergoing. I feel there are nicer windows options out there, but they are pointless when I have the ecosystem. I feel I would be giving up so much if I switched over to any other manufacturer. And if I am to give up my Samsung integration, I might as well go all-in for a MacBook. I miss things like the haptic touchpad on the Samsung (and other windows laptops), long battery life and MAINLY I wish windows laptops would keep the same performance (or at least useable performance) when unplugged. Besides, I hate numpads on laptops, I think they truly ruin the design and make OEMs do weird positioning choices for the trackpads. On the other side, by getting a MacBook (especially those without the M1/M2 pro chipset) I will be losing the 120hz refresh rate display (which in 2023 is getting everyday closer to be a dealbreaker for me after using some 120hz displays for years on my Tab S7 and my S22+ phone).

You can go with basically any better windows laptop and the only things you’d be missing are the continuity features and the recently added Galaxy buds auto-switching. There’s now a workaround for getting Samsung notes on a regular windows PC so that perk is gone. I wouldn’t be surprised if the galaxy buds switching gets ported to other windows laptops via an app somehow. Don’t worry about it bro. Get a better quality Lenovo or Asus laptop and don’t let yourself be trapped by an ecosystem. Samsung phones link fine with any windows laptop when combined with the built in features + Microsoft’s phone link, these specific Galaxy features aren’t anything too special.

Would the Galaxy Book3 Pro be decent for KZread video editing? If I record 4k video on a Galaxy S22 Ultra, could the Book3 Pro edit those videos or would it struggle?

It would struggle in general with 4K files. 1080p would be better

Have u had the chance to open the 14" Pro up to find out if there is a second SSD port available and which size? I ended up with the 14" Pro: only one available i5 16 512. The 512 is not enough for me. I exchanged the book 3 pro 360 for this one due to size.

It's not a copout answer at all. What are you going to use it for is the most important question that needs to be asked when choosing a computer.

Does the ULTRA have 1) Illuminated keyboard and 2) is it touch screen?

When I set mine up I picked the option that says set up as new laptop with fresh start..... When it started up it has files and stuff on my desktop from my actualy pc when I didn't want that..... What can I do to get it to be like a fresh start. Do I have to factory reset now or does that affect the laptop. Should I just delete all the stuff from my pc from it or factory reset

You have to set up the laptop without signing into your Microsoft account email address.

@@phrezzzalfred1267 battery is lasting for around 6 hrs , my work is usually zoom meetings and some light work. When I play game like cricket 22 it will drain in like 1-2 hrs so I have to connect a charger then.. I feel it's enough for my use.

I looked at these and in the end went with an LG Gram, the blueprint in which Samsung tried to emulate. Sadly for Samsung, to me, the original remains the King. I bought the 17-inch Gram with 32GB/1TB/i7/OLED/3K for £1900 that included a 4K monitor free (£350). This worked out better value than the same spec Book3Pro if I could get that 32GB of RAM. I still have the 8th-gen LG Gram 15, which has been a great device, but I wanted to upgrade to the OLED one. It is a shame that Samsung dominates influencers, although I understand the $2billion marketing budget Samsung throws around helps keep creators in the game, but still, IMHO, the LG Gram is better and deserves more coverage.

Just in case anyone out there is cross-shopping the Book 3 Ultra and LG Gram, please know they are not competitors. The Book 3 Pro and LG Gram do compare well, but the Ultra is a much more capable machine for very different purposes. Cheers.

( I've always used Android my life ) I completely forgot about Lg Gram and now looking at their site and everything they pretty much offer all that I need want and wish! Even better than Macbook Pros! I just want learn how is the battery life! If it can last 10 hours with coding a backend frontend software engineer work it would be ideal for me.

Everyone says the same thing and PC manufacturers keep doing it... Off center trackpads to fit in a number pad nobody uses...

I picked up the Galaxy Book3 Pro 16". Highest on my wish list was a large color accurate, high resolution display. Second was build quality. The Book3 Pro fit my needs perfectly. My only nock against it would be the built in speakers. Not a huge issue for me, as I'm always connected to my desktop speakers. The only other issue that I've noticed is my love for the massive trackpad comes back to bite me when typing, as accidental track pad inputs happen frequently. However, even this was easily mitigated with a simple push of the f5 key to disable the trackpad. Once I'm done typing, I hit it again, and I'm good to go. Other than that I really enjoy the typing experience.

I have actually not been having an issue with the massive trackpad, but the tip for turning off the trackpad is good to know incase it starts happening. For the speakers, did you try going into Samsung Settings, go into Dolby Experience and make sure it is not disabled? I went in and found it was disabled by default. The difference changing it to something like Dynamic was pretty decent. Although they are downwards firing which is meh.... however, I have the 360 version so when I am using it as a tablet its nice.
