One of the most underrated topics....I know in tennis this is a very big deal and they have names for different grips even

I had a thought on this, maybe the knuckles should be set at the location where the bat connects with the ball . So the correct swing with proper shoulder tilt should be the most comfortable for your hands.

I teach door knockers, or door knockers to punch knuckles/anywhere in between. The top arm can easily be hinged to keep arm up using door knockers. It’s all about palm up palm down with my 10 yr olds.

Ive always just gripped the bat however lines the forearms up at a 90 degree angle.

Proper Alignment is based on the size of the batters hands. If you focus on palm up on the rear hand and palm down with the front hand, when you close your hands wherever your knuckles end up is the right position.

That was my thought as well, but also handle thickness. Maybe this is the reason why for younger players lining up the knocking knuckles is a good staring point because that's (on average) the best position considering their relative hand size. It just doesn't fit for most older and adult players anymore. My theory: the bigger your hands or the smaller the bat handle, the closer you are going to be to first & second knuckles lining up. The smaller the hands or the larger the handle, you're going more and more away from that.

@@andrecanis4894 Agreed. Hand and bat size are variable which is why I coach palm up, palm down, grip and not line up your knuckles.
