2 Ingredient Donut - Hot fresh Donuts in Minutes - Kids Love Them - The Hillbilly Kitchen
These Donuts are absolutely delicious, fast and easy. They are perfect for a quick tasty treat or special breakfast. Your family can enjoy fresh hot donuts for about 10 cents each!!! Which is an incredible value in today's economy. Be prepared, because everyone is going to want you to make them again. They were a snow day tradition when my kids were little. I know your children will enjoy them and you will make great memories with them.

@@luxuryqueen42 I'm not sure here. But if I shred my own cheese and don't want it to all stick together in the bag, especially since if I freeze some, I'll put a little cornstarch in the bag and make sure it gets all around. Then I can take a handful of frozen shredded cheese And add it to something I'm making. So in my example it's an anti cakng agent

You can use a bench scraper to chop-up a dozen doughnuts, then combine the chopped up chunks with a can of apple pie filling & cinnamon sugar. Form this mixture into patties the same way you make hamburger patties. Deep fry these to make some delicious Apple Fritters! I've done it many times. Thank you, Miss Becky...🇺🇸 👍☕

When I was little (I’m 73 now) my mother would make these using her big electric skillet. She would make them when we were going to the drive in movies, put them in a paper bag with some cinnamon sugar & give them a light shake to coat them. She would also do up a big bag of popcorn using the same oil & same skillet. Add a big jug of KoolAid & we were set. We NEVER went to the snack stand. I’ve been thinking about those donuts a lot over the last few years. I think I may even still have her old donut cutter. I need to dig into the back of my utensil drawer.

My grandpa loved them hot and fresh too. You can use powder sugar and leave whole and filled with jelly or Nutella. Peanut butter and jelly. Full the whole donute will your fave jelly, microwave some oeanut butter till melted like a glaze and dip the top in it. Or just as a glaze. You can take cake icing and use it. aha, my mom made these for us, and she pinched the donut hole through with her thumb and finger. These are truly the best! You can also cut the biscuit in quarters, making donut holes! Yes, you can fry other things in the oil, if you don't mind them tasting like donuts. :)

We used to make these when I was a kid, however we used the biscuit cutter which had an extra, small cutter in the middle. We used crisco to fry them in. I think we just used regular sugar on them.

Speaking of children...one of the tabletop all-in-one hydro gardens makes a great gift for an elderly person who can no longer grow things outside or a child to get them interested in growing food and learning about the science of plant growth. It`s such an easy way to grow some salad greens, herbs, or even micro dwarf tomatoes and certain flowers regardless of time of year or location. You can even build your own simple ones from a coffee container or something much larger. I have my own watercress growing inside in a Folgers Instant container right now and it`s blooming and making more seeds. And I have a few collards and mustard in here too. With this bad freeze moving into Louisiana Monday and Tuesday it will be a challenge to save my outdoor mustard, turnips, and other vegetables. Seems to happen every year now.

When my parents were still with us, Dad would go fishing and we would have a huge fish fry for the neighbors. We’d have fried fish, fried sliced potatoes and onions, and hush puppies. Then Dad would deep fry biscuits in the grease. It filters the grease to reuse for another fish fry. The neighbors would bring a covered dish to go along with it.

I used to use biscuits or batter to make 'batter bread' fried in a skillet. I'd forgotten how much my kids loved that. Now I have 35 grandkids and 23 greats. If we have a snow day with the cold weather coming in, and gather to play, I am going to be inside cooking these up for when they take a break! Thanks for the reminder.

I used to do this for my kids too! I would make regular and chocolate glazes and let them dip it in the glaze and then into sprinkles. My mom made these when we were little and our uncles convinced us kids that the donut holes were poisonous to kids but not to grown ups, so they got to eat them all! Thanks for bringing back some great memories, Becky! I hope you’re keeping warm and having a wonderful New Year!
