@@s.h.h-js9oh she might speak/sing in english with a bit of accent but she speaks fluent english, she perfectly understands the meaning of the lyrics. In AGT audition (this vid is when she performed in the semifinal), she sang her original song, written in english. It's the user above who misunderstood her in the interview. She didn't say the song breaks the barrier. She said the song was related to her struggle of not being seen as a musician but as a blind person. What she's looking for is people see her a musician, which she hadn't found prior to AGT. Now that she's in AGT, it breaks the barriers and people start to see her as musician instead of just a blind person.

As far as I understand she cannot speak Arabic but can read Arabic like many practicing Muslims because it’s a part of the praying, one of the foundations of Islam. She speaks English, Indonesian and obviously her native language, Javanese. And she can sing other songs of different languages quite well (Arabic, Hindi, Acehnese, and others). I can be wrong about it though!

Je ne suis pas sûre de correctement vous comprendre, mais il est évident qu'avec Putri Ariani nous sommes très loin du karaoké. Putri ne reproduit pas, elle transforme, elle recompose, elle invente. Et de plus, elle ne chante pas sur une musique enregistrée, elle s'accompagne elle-même et merveilleusement bien au piano, ou bien chante a capella, merveilleusement bien aussi. Mais si je vous comprends bien, en effet AGT ressemble parfois à un karaoké, avec tous ces chanteurs qui attendent que la musique soit lancée pour commencer à chanter. De là vient la situation ambiguë dans laquelle nous sommes, obligés de comparer des concurrents qui ne peuvent être comparés. Cela fera forcément du mal à quelqu'un.

Putri has been totally blind since she left the hospital at 3 months & was born 3 months premature. She is a self taught singer/songwriter and multi instrumentalist (Piano, guitar, & flute). She sings most genera from most periods. I think she just picked up and plays her instruments by ear-no formal training, that is the case with piano, not sure about the other instruments.
