25:39 To be precise excluding the short jingles and the Hurry Up variants in SMB there are 6 songs: Ground, Underground, Underwater and Castle (the only one I couldn't hear in the movie, if anyone knows if and where they used it please tell me) Themes, Starman and Ending. Hi, SuperMarioT sent me here, this was a great discussion, couldn't agree more with him (I mean, there's a reason why I'm following his channel), but you had some really interesting thoughts to share too DrUpauli! As a big Mario and Nintendo fan I enjoyed this movie so much (watched it in Italian twice, once alone day one and once later with my sister and her boyfriend since they hadn't watched it yet and I'm going to rewatch it in English and also Japanese when the DVDs come out or earlier if I can find them elsewhere before), in fact my only personal gripe is that it's short, wanted to see even more of it (and it would've given more space for certain characters and their interactions)!

I watched the movie in theaters and I loved it! Giving a 12/10

This is discussion is great. I personally love the movie even if it's drawbacks (it made me an official Mario fan btw). As an animated film, it shocks me that straight CG could look THIS good and that cinematography could be this inventive. Quick shout out to the character animation too, it's the best I've seen in any animated movie. As a musical score, it's one of my favorites ever not just for the references, but also the new compositions Brain Tyler made for Mario, Peach, and Bowser (all so good). For the licensed music, I get the mixed reception (I think it's fine), but I'll let you know that we could've been a lot worse thanks to executives. As a story, it's perfect comfort food. Not too deep, but not too simple either. If anything I think this movie is about letting you take in what the Mario world is without using exposition (something that the directors took note when talking to Chris Meledandri producer on the movie (he's not a fan of long exposition). I'm just a big fan of the visual storytelling more so than the script itself (it's a little rough but it gets the job done), even though I love certain lines and certain beats/ideas. That said, the characters are what make this movie work for me. My personal favorites are Mario and Peach simply because they made both characters interesting and reinvented them, without making them feel different from the source material. I think that sentiment can be said about all the characters other favorites would be Bowser and DK). Not to mention, the voice acting as a whole which was just so fun to hear in full. This cast honestly made me want 4 more movies featuring them as these characters (excluding spin-offs). But yeah, loved the movie and I hope we get more Mario and Nintendo movies soon.
