#2 Four Attempts Might Be Taking It A Bit Far! Seeding South Australia 2024 | Plant 2024

Its a very early morning for me to get a pile of lime spread. I sort out the hydraulic cylinder issues with the Bourgault 8910, and we finally get our first paddock seeded for the year.

    Mate I know how it frustrates service supply companies . I email 4 electricians 8 days ago ,none of them bothered to reply or turn up to install my electric oven , humbug ,so now I am the ruddy sparky . Wish me luck !

    When calibrating your seeder, you can put a couple 20L drums under the yellow tub to hold it closer to where the seed comes out. Therefore you don't need a second person to hold the tub up. We farm at Laura, and we have a simplicity box as well.

    Well done on the fix Henry, sometimes you’ve just got to work with what you’ve got. Hopefully they can get you the RIGHT part soon. Good luck with planting. Some great drone shots, shows the spreader perfectly, thanks for the video.

    Well. Maybe 4th times the charm. I’ve done a fair bit of parts procurement in my day, and this aspect of buy parts always frustrated me. Durn good thing you’re a mechanic, Henry. Otherwise….where would ya be?

    Hi Henry, Fascinating watching you get into the seeding and one or two issues you solve along the way. I have a question? Do you have a map of the property so we can see each of the paddocks you talk about and where you have to go to get from one end of the farm to the other. Thanks

    I don’t know how you do it with the machinery, I get soo frustrated with it all so I hardly own any 🤣🤣🤣 So with that stubble, was it the grazing that caused the drama or should it have been baled or chopped? Or just one of those things?

  • @lockvalleyfarms981

    @lockvalleyfarms981

    The grazing 100% made it worse. Sheep knocking stubble over always makes it harder to get back through.

    We all have them days mate. Mine was today…. Done 2 zero max gear box’s doing beans… trying to get 150kg/ha out. How do you go with your air cart on beans?

  • @lockvalleyfarms981

    @lockvalleyfarms981

    15 күн бұрын

    Get along with it ok. Always calibrate and always end up having to wind the rate one way or the other, though. I calibrate it and set it to 140kg ha. That way, if it's out 10-20kg in the paddock, it's no big drama, and it usually is out by about that much. Beans seem to be a bit difficult to calibrate on ours.
