While you're first practicing the toss, stand with the front of your legs against your bed. That way, WHEN you drop the stick, it will land on something soft and you won't have to bend down too far to get it. Saved me a ton of time when I learned to juggle. And thanks for the lessons, Gabe.

I practiced these stick tricks diligently, until I had nailed them. And I gotta say, I used them at an open mic night at a local venue here in NYC. A couple of guys and myself got together to attempt to play a song. We were onstage for only ten minutes, and I already wowed the audience with said tricks. I was like a rockstar. And then our singer/guitarist counted off: "ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR!!" At which time a cacophony of pure metal was released from the bowels of those Marshall Amps. And then a feeling washed over me, like a yearning to strike those skins faster and louder than I ever had before! But that's when the sudden realization that I didn't actually know how to play, nor did I ever try to learn how, hit me like a punch in the face. I sat there staring into space like a dog staring at a fan, much to the chagrin of the onlooking crowd, and to the anger of my soon to be ex bandmates. I performed one more twirl of the sticks, ceremoniously dropped them and bid farewell with the cry of: "THANK YOU NEW YORK CITY.... AND GOODNIGHT!!!!"

I watched A stick trick video over and over and it failed to show me a slo mo of how it worked. Your video was awesome!!! I'm 47 Years old and a guitarist since I was 16. I always had a passion for the drums so while the world goes to shit I decided to buy a drum kit. Pieces are coming in daily. I have two double bass pedals. One is under my desk for practice the other will be for the Kit. I'm very passionate about music. I even have the Name Sabian tattooed on by back shoulder to shoulder. And it's my daughters name. In 1992 i Fell in love with the drums and started playing on pots and pans and cardboard boxes. In 1993, i finally got to play on a real drum kit and it was a dream come true. I got pretty good that when I was in the 7th grade, the music teacher kicked the existing 10th grade drummer off the school band and replaced him with me. When I asked the teacher why he chose me, he said “because you have really good timing and rhythm” This really gave my confidence a major boost, but I was too shy and timid to follow my dreams. I really loved playing drums but I had no ambition or drive to actually follow it through and pursue a career as a drummer. By 1998, my drum kit was just gathering dust in the corner of my house. The following year I pulled the kit apart and threw it in my garage and my love for drums just became a distant memory or like a dream of someone else’s past life. Fast forward to 2022, and I absolutely regret putting the sticks down. Maybe one day, I am going to buy another kit and get back into it🥺.
