2 Days in SAPA, VIETNAM 🇻🇳 Overnight trekking and Mt. Fansipan

This week we visited Sapa, a mountain town in Northern Vietnam known for its trekking and homesteads with local tribes. This week was not the week Carson managed to get over his fear of cable cars, so I made my way up to the top of the HIGHEST POINT IN INDOCHINA all by myself. I also call it Mt. Fan-IS-pan instead of Mt. Fan-SI-pan the whole video, so you'll just have to bear with me.

What an amazing insight into the culture and lives of these people!! The rice terraces and surrounding scenery were spectacular! Most impressive is the energy that you two expend every day. This vlog is one of your best--sensitive music accompanying all the dialogue and great content. Thanks for another armchair tour! ❤

Nice video and guide however it’s hard to follow when you don’t include any of the names of places you booked or ate at. Are you able to add these to the video description like the bakery etc?

My dad has been wanting to visit Vietnam for a while, and while we don’t have any plans to come back to Vietnam any time soon, we most likely will with him in a few years. When we do we want to do Ninh Binh which we missed out on but heard great things, and we want to see Sapa during the harvest season. I would definitely go back to Da Nang as well.

As long as it isn’t raining in the afternoon that would be nice! The last cable car to Sapa from the top is at 6pm Monday-Friday and 7pm on the weekends so just make sure the sun is setting before then.

Ruou Tao Meo is actually Hmong's apple alcohol . The Vietnamese Kinh peoples used to call the Hmong ethnics ``Meo`` which means the cats ( a quite pejorative and racist epithet ) because they are very agile and fast when they climb the mountains and hills like that animal . Today the word ``Meo `` is no longer used to designate a Hmong person . Same like in America the White peoples no longer call a First Nation person an ``Indian`` or `` Redskin`` , an Inuit an ``Eskimo`` and a black person a ``Negro``.

@@laureygodard8639You should not believe this scammer's explanation. If you want to learn more, you should go to Google to look up official information on research documents about the H'Mong people of Vietnam. Maybe I'm not good at English. But my basic knowledge about H'Mong people can be better than this scammer. 👉Accordingly, the H'Mong people are one of the ethnic minorities with a significant population among the 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam. The ethnic name mentioned by Mr. Cu Hoa Van is "Mong" or "H'Mong". In Thailand and Laos they are called Miao people (in the Lao Sung group). In Thai it is แม้ว Maew or ม้ง Hmong. In China, they are called Miao (Chinese: 苗; pinyin: Miao), and the name is used in international literature as Miao, as in English: Miao people. The majority of Miao people in Vietnam are called Mong (later called Mong), another group of people are called Na Miao. Mong is also the self-name of Miao people in Laos, Thailand and in Xuyen, Qian, and Dien Nam China. In addition to the meaning of ethnic community, Mong is also a word to call a family. (So Miao people is another name for the H'mong people with a long historical origin, with absolutely no "disparaging or racist meaning" as that bastard made up🤬. The name Meo is in Chinese pronunciation. - Vietnamese is Mieu (Cat))
