"I already went for a dip, this isn't sweat" 😂 Sydney's jokes. Holy hell 36 breaths, don't make us crowdfund you a schnozzle adapter and inflation bag! Cheers to Gord 🍻 One of the only celebrities whose death I've mourned and continue to mourn. Rare and beautiful spirit.

Hahaha I haven't bit the bullet on one of those yet... and yeah man glad to hear someone else feels the same way. I was thankful to have gotten to see him 3 times on that final tour. Beautiful spirit indeed. Thanks for watching!

That was some nice backcountry and good bass fishing. Just wondering why use a fly rod when a spinning real would be more convenient? Awesome video 📹 looking forward to the next 1⃣ 💯 😎 🔥
Sydney was a champ!
Thanks Alex
Syd has officially caught at least 300% more fish than I have on a fly rod! Thanks for sharing. Cheers!!!

Great time following you two. I spend a lot of time kayaking the lakes in SW NOVA.
Nice to see the ladies behind the Scavengers
Came across your channel and must say I truly found your adventures so enjoyable. I grew up camping, canoeing, scuba diving and fishing with my folks and my grandparents and extended family. When is cousins get together we still laugh and share all the memories that we made. Thank you for a great video I look forward to seeing more of your adventures

Awesome to see Sydney out with you 😊
Thanks for taking us along!
you guys are SOOOO Canadian ... I love it
Dude - She's a keeper...And your camp/cooking game is top shelf...
OMG, my father used to make peanut butter and bacon sandwiches by the Atlantic for my mom when they dated. She’d tell me about those, but never made one on her own. When I got out on my own I’d make them after scuba diving on the coast, toasted over an open fire just like you are doing but with bread. Then I had my own kids and would take them on walks in the forest, always bringing something to eat cause that’s how you reward kids for slogging through wet brush and green briar jungles with dad. I can still see and smell the bacon smoking and dripping as we cooked it on green sticks hanging over the flame. Bread got toasted on a rock facing the fire. Those sandwiches were heaven. My youngest named them LumGrun. What the heck? I asked him, which is the Lum and which is the Grun. He told me the bread and peanut butter was the Lum. The bacon was Grun. Lum Grun. Now they are grown and gone but I still carry the fixings when I go off into the forest or river. Nothing tastes as good as Lum Grun. Memories….
Can't believe it has already been 5 years. That is a tough thermarest situation but if it works, it works. Great fishing out there - thanks for sharing!
Great to see a new video and hoping for lots more as we head to winter!
Hello this is Meg from upstate New York and I’m back again to watch another one of your videos. So glad to see that it’s not that far out on the three months. Can’t wait to see what you’re doing
The portage was well worth the campsite, and private lake, I think Sidney handled the trip well. Cheers!
Water flowing through and under rock... yes, that has its own sound, you crazy poet you. Bravo!
Sydney rocked it! Great vid! Yessss on the Cabot Trail❤️
Thanks for posting. Looked like a grand old time.
Wow what a cool little camping trip,looked very enjoyable.
A fun trip! thx sso much guys
Not to state something others may have said but inflation sacks and pumps for sleeping pads make a HUGE difference. Lol Love your videos. Keeps me outdoors while in.
Awesome seeing you and your girl friend out together.
Nice trip! Thanks for sharing this video.
I'd rather gnaw on the gunnels of that canoe than eat humus. Lol. Great show, greater shorts!. It is impossible to catch a fish and NOT smile. Impossible. TY and God Bless.

You choked me up there with the tribute to Gord and The Hip. 🍻 I wish I could drink beer (I have celiac) I'd like to try that one. Good goin' Sydney on your first backcountry trip. You'll be a pro in no time. 👍

Great video, we have that maple cream here in quebec too but they call it "coureur des bois" great stuff to bring instead of coffee cream for a day trip
So fun to share with your GF, Alex! I used to eat peanut butter and bacon sandwiches when I was a kid and now I may have to resurrect that option ;-) I think Sydney has bright fishing future! Thanks for sharing!!
Fantastic video, as always.

Sydney is a perfect camping partner! Game to try it all in the great outdoors. I'd love to see you meet-up with Jon and Erin!
Great scenery for sure. A few jumping rocks. Watch the fish handling...
Love to you Northerners
Love Cabot Trail...sometimes hard to get in ON, so stock up when we see fam in NS & NB.

Nice fishing Sydney. 🎣 🛶
I think you might have misunderstood her paddling request at 7:18 😆
Nice lil rip. Gotta try those peanutbacon wraps 😋🤯👍🏻
Wonderful overnighter! First time experiences are always a lot of fun. I say, try things twice just to make sure you didn't like it the first time around! lol Cabot Trail Rum Cream is the best coffee creamer ever! Thanks for sharing! :) :)

Haha that is a good thing to say! And yes it is an amazing creamer. Thanks for watching!
Cool thanks 👍🇨🇦
Great trip report as usual. Try adding a 1/4 tsp of baking soda to each 12oz. of raw meat before you cook and dehydrate it for a nicer texture. Using bread crumbs is another option.

Nice vid guys.
Alex, get yourself a "flextail gear tiny pump". Rechargeable and incorporates a light. Inexpensive too! No more 40 breaths!

You are probably right...just haven't bit the bullet yet. Cheers
Always enjoy your videos Alex. Where was this excursion? I have been paddling in Ontario for a few years now but as a Bluenoser only explored a few parks and rivers in NS. Gear wraps are a great idea. Why didn't I think of that during our Temagami trip, duh?!!
@NorthernScavenger
2 жыл бұрын
This trip was in Ontario! Don't want to give away much more than that. Gear ties are very handy!
Um, I love this! But the beer and chopping wood made me feel nervous! And my new favourite line is "different, but not offensive."
haven't seen anyone comment that those silicon straps are called "Heli Straps" if you were looking for some different sizes Let me know if you ever want to backcountry ski
What make and mod of axe are you using in this video?? How do you like it? Seems like it works well. Thanks and great video!
Thought I was the only one that did peanut butter bacon wraps. Try it with crushed pecans sometime 👍🏻 Great video

More Sydney 👏👏👏
Great stuff Alex and Sydney! What is your fly rod length and weight? I am an avid angler but just picked up up a new fly combo and a couple used ones to try here in Nova Scotia. One is only 6ft in length (4 wt) which seems pretty short but for a canoe trip I imagine it could be perfect instead of trying to land a fish with a 9ft rod.
@NorthernScavenger
2 жыл бұрын
Yeah the 6ft would be interesting. I have the Echo Base and it is the 6wt and I believe 9ft in length. Tight lines!
I have the same mattress and it takes me 100 breaths! Also I'm wondering which lake you're on. You portaged away from a lake with cottages - only to find a lake with a designated camping spot?!
@NorthernScavenger
2 жыл бұрын
Haha I must have good air flow. Apparently there are some devices with batteries that can help us out. I just haven't bit the bullet. Can't disclose location unfortunately 😔 thanks for watching :)
Great vid. Curious where it was? (Approximately)
@NorthernScavenger

Don't really want to disclose too much on the place. It is easy enough to access that I don't want it to become overpopulated. Thanks for watching!

SMooth peanut butter just doesn:t work for me and you could add some cheese with that wrap
Too bad you didn't bring some big lures versus the flies as I suspect there are some bigger fish in there that would be attracted to larger bates.
@NorthernScavenger
2 жыл бұрын
I plan on tying some larger flies for that exact reason!
Alex, are you going to be the last purist to try a double blade paddle in some situations?
