2 Corinthians 1-13 - The Bible from 30,000 Feet - Skip Heitzig - Flight 2COR1
After Paul wrote 1 Corinthians, false teachers began spreading opposition to him in the Corinthian church. Paul sent Titus as his representative to deal with them, and most of the church repented. Paul wrote this epistle to express his joy at the turnaround and to appeal to them to accept his authority, which was confirmed by the many hardships he suffered for the gospel. On this flight, we find beautiful truths to carry with us through our own times of suffering.

What I can teach you. Pray for your future wife, future husband. It will save you a lot of pain, finances write it down and line it up to the word of God. Protect you from the decoys. I have done this and my wife is awesome and Godly and rooted. I didn’t know marriage can be this great. Everything you buy, pray about it write down what you want and put it before God. This is great and hasn’t failed me plus give your tithe!
Recently I found Skip on youtube and have learned and understand The Bible so much better. Thank you

I agree that Paul's infirmity was his eyes because, “Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first. And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus. Where is then the blessedness ye spake of? for I bear you record, that, if it had been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me. “ Galatians 4:13-15
My favorite verse in that book is 2 Corinthians 5:21.

Around 58:00 Skip talks about how people poke fun from a distance, but tend to change face to face. This is the exact problem with social media today. People really don't know each other but communicate incessantly, making it really easy to be unkind and hateful, knowing that a face to face isn't going to happen. There's nothing new under the sun, but the current cancel culture, and the ease of social media, is helping the love of many grow cold. I wonder if Skip meant to tie in the stoning of Paul (as if he were dead) to the reference Paul makes about going to the 3rd heaven. In short, when Paul was unconscious, or even dead, from stoning he had the 3rd heaven experience. Then came to, or the Lord brought him back from death, and he wrote the words about his experience. Skip didn't say this but it seems like maybe he meant to.
