Thirty five years has passed since I took those photos in April 1987 as I set off. The Great Wall maintains its magical spell that lures the curious and adventurous, and the only way to know it is to follow it, whichever way it goes!

I like the fact that they built the expressway under the Great Wall (or over it), rather than through it 🚘

Great Adventure! Will follow along. When you get a chance, check out a book about brothers and their life adventure. 30 Years in the White Haze by Dan Egan. BTW - I read both Great Wall in 50 Objects and Great Wall Revisited. If we ever get back to China WildWall is on my list. Have fun!

The level of difficulty is just not the same. Your father was exploring uncharted terrain while you are probably following the lead of your father's employees / business partners.
