I find it funny that this firearm was only made 6 years ago, and the seller put it up for sale about 6 months ago. My guess is, he had it sitting around for a while, finally worked up the courage to fire the damn thing, and immediately said "never again." and sold it XD

The owner had a wonderful collection of big bore rifles and pistols including several 4 and 2 bore single and double rifles that he shot regularly. He passed away unexpectedly and his family put most of his collection up for auction with RIA. He was a wonderful person who was loved and respected and was a great collector and member of the big bore shooters community. He was more than a customer to me, he will be missed.

You shouldn't feel bad, you couldn't have known. I just wanted to make sure that the records was straight. He owned some real unique firearms...600NE Thompson Pistol, 950JDJ, and the list goes on and on.

I’ve shot some pretty big guns in my life, (.375 H&H in a Mdl 70 Winchester and a .338 Winchester Mag) but nothin’ like this monster.

I'd like to see this shot into ballistic gel. The slow-mo would be freakin awesome.

Check out Kentucky Ballistics. He just did a video shooting ballistic gel dummies but it’s with a 4 Bore so 🤷🏻‍♂️

For a 1/14 of a pound charge of black powder (500grs) That didn't smoke nearly as bad as I would have thought it would.

Very impressive and good shots you made. Would I shoot that, I think not.

Can this be proofed for smokeless loads? 1/2 pound projectile at 1300-ish fps = ultimate stopping rifle.

No because it’s so heavy and you need something to carry it for you also it’s kinda useless there are better weapons like 416 rigby 600 nitro express 458 Lott and 700 nitro express

I am still in business but I haven't taken any new orders in two years due to my backlog and production times. I probably won't be taking any new orders even after I am caught up because I am closing down my shop to customer orders. I am transitioning to full time engraving and only building speculation guns in the future mostly due to some health problems I am fighting. I have started a youtube channel to document my engraving projects and that is most likely were my future videos will be focused. If I build a unique firearm in the future I may document it and upload it to this channel but for now what I have posted is all there is. Thanks to all of you for your support and interest.

There's the old cliche that says "If I have to explain it, you wouldn't understand" but in truth no reason is needed. People can and do buy just about anything they want...why do people buy baseball cards or Lamborghini's or any other luxury item. I'm sure you probably have things in your life that others would ask the same question of. To each their own.

@@StolzerGunsmithing it's sad to hear your closing your gun shop. You put an incredible amount of skill and craftsmanship in your work. I'm re doing an old Joseph manton 12 bore muzzle loading shotgun, and just re finishing and re soldering to make it look original is a crazy amount of work, I can't imagine how much work it would be to make in the first place.

What on earth did you do to your leg? Snake bite?

How does the power compare to 50 Bmg ?

It's been a long time since I did the math but if I remember correctly the 50BMG produces muzzle energy of around 15,000psi and the 2 Bore produces around 14,000psi. It's not really apples to apples comparison though since it is almost like two different ways of producing energy. One relies on mass while the other relies more on velocity. Think of it like this; would you prefer to be hit by a BB going 4000fps or a Bowling Ball going 300fps?

I gotta say you look like you are havimg soooo much fun firing that shoulder cannon. (Sarcasm) in the modern world with smokless powder.....just why??? Just to say you can??
