2 beautiful villages in Spain that you didn't know about

Olvera and Setenil de las Bodegas are two charming towns located in the province of Cadiz, Andalusia, Spain, both known for their unique characteristics and historical significance.
Olvera is situated in the northern part of Cadiz province, in the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park. It's part of the "Pueblos Blancos" or White Towns, known for their whitewashed buildings. The town boasts stunning views due to its location atop a hill, dominated by a Moorish fortress, Castillo de Olvera. Setenil de las Bodegas is also one of the White Towns of Andalusia, located approximately 20 kilometers from Ronda. What distinguishes Setenil from other towns is its fascinating architecture. Houses and buildings are built into the surrounding cliffs, with some homes featuring rock as part of their roofs and walls, creating a picturesque scene.

I had the pleasure of visiting Setenil for the first time on the early 1970's before it was discovered by tourists, and I've been back a few times since to show it to friends. Its narrow, winding streets would make a superb setting for practical drivers' license exams. 🙂

So nice! It's an amazing place. How do you see it now, do you think it changed much since the 70s?

@@taniaandreea Absolutely! There are clearly lots of tourists and businesses have arisen to satisfy/take advantage of them. In the 1970's there were none of either.
