Nice one William and well done on passing 2500 subscribers. Great content and an interesting journey. Regards Kevin
Well done with the 2500 subs... it's a small but significant milestone. Loving your "Maid of Kent" journey. Personally I'm trying to build up enough courage to start my own channel which will follow the build of my 'Wombat" (Australian design) locomotive.

Well Done Well Said William need more messages out there to say that it's not elitist, although i am an engineer i was a complete novice when i cut my teeth on my first steam loco build 5 year ago. I was truly in at the deep end but came out the other side beaming👍👍👍👍👍👍 cheers Kev
Congrats on your 2500 subscribers! Love your channel, and love the background video! That loco is a beauty!

Well done 👏 KZread brother, awesome milestone. 5000 next?? I'm with you in regards there seems to be this hump with the younger ones with interest. There is a stigma that it's a retired persons club, which it's not, but the younger generations have a stigma they are lazy and know nothing, which is also not true. Hopefully with the likes of your channel, mine and range of others we are showing people of all skills and ages the fun, joy, fulfilment of this great and rewarding hobby!! Congratulations buddy. All the best, laters👍, Matt

Well done on the 2500 subs, William. Up to many many more.
Thank you William for all your past content and future content. Delightful sights and sounds at your local model railway. What a joy to behold. 👏👏👍😀
Just got myself the castings for a Centec 2 mill, so I'll be rewatching your content a lot as I get on with building it up, I believe it's going to be missing most everything when it arrives, just the main bits included 😂 So should be fun for me and my lathe xD

@@williamsworkshopuk Yeah, should be. Shockingly the guy I got it from provided a lot of the parts I assumed would be missing, it's mostly just leadscrews, handles, dials etc that are missing!
Awesome Video, please keep them coming and like you I am just starting out building a Maid of Kent

Many years ago, and in his later years, my late Father-in-Law spent a lot of happy hours at Beachurst issuing clubs and balls for the putting green, but spent much of the time sitting sunning himself in a deck chair. He loved it. Congratulations on the growth in your subscription numbers and best wishes for continued increase.
Really enjoying your series. Slowly assembling a pile of parts and castings for a hunslet to the DY design. Purchasing a lathe (Warco probably) when funds allow later this year/early next. Keep building, it’s quietly inspirational.
Well done on the subscribers William, very well deserved. Enjoying your content and watching the journey! Keep it coming 🙂

Well done on the milestone mate, great progress on the loco and great driving too. We’ll find another date to do a few more laps, I’ll be taking the Maid up later in the month so we’ll try tie up for that one!
Not in you can't win! And congrats on the milestone!
i plan on starting 3 1/2 inch gauge LBSC Tich and i got the book that goes into detail of making it i will say i think most people dont want to get into the hobby for several reasons which i commonly see and hear 1. they dont have the machines available to them or they dont have the space for the machines 2. the price of getting started in the hobby 3. they dont have the time to learn to use the machines

@@williamsworkshopuk i do think its worth talking about in a video from what ive seen and heard from people around my age mind you am 18 most common thing i hear is oh i cant get a big enough lathe to machine wheel castings which i say is a load of rubbish as my bench lathe can machine 5 inch gauge wheel castings with the outside jaws

Hi William, I am only a novice in the workshop, and like you have a KZread channel which, like you stated in your voice over, also is aimed at the complete novice trying to give encouragement that "Anybody can have a go". Great series "keep it up". Kevin at "Mr Factotums workshop" is worth "looking in on for beginners", among many others, with amazingly good content. "KZread" is a great learning tool Cheers to all.
