When teams start forming for EV sports, Chi is probably going to be one of the more coveted component sponsorships short of being sponsored by factories like Sur Ron themselves. Can you imagine how hard the Sur Ron factory team's bikes are going to rip? They'll get all the prototype goods...

I would also say he should try to not get sponsored by KO motors lol and get himself a controller upgrade. KO has beefed up controllers for the stock motor and they're only like 600 USD or less so they'd probably toss him one to piggyback off the Chi product placement viewer gains.

Pro tip: Replace your brake pads with some Shimano JO4C brake pads - They give you a lot more stopping power than the stock pads, and are worth a try before upgrading the brakes.

The battery you got does not add power or speed, you need a controller for that.

Which battery exactly did you get since you don’t mention that?.. Does 60 (M) stand for the 60 max? Which is 2500 not 2000....

Chi battery is the single most impacting and honestly simplest upgrade you can make. Their product is basically the beast of batteries. Accept no substitutes.

Keep the stock battery and do a bypass on it. If you get an aftermarket controller, you can get 7.5kw out of the bypassed stock battery. That seems to be more your style. Same weight, more power.

@@nxdboi 100% true! And that's usually all across the e-bike spectrum. Stock controllers are almost always not the best they can be even on very expensive vehicles, Aftermarket is the way to go.

I agree.. I think range will be decreased. Reason being now that you get more power because of the higher continuous amp-age... your using more amps to achieve that power.... Battery are limited to a certain amount of amp hours. I don't see how one can get more range by using more amps. Maybe if you turn of the break regen and let the surron coast once higher speed is reached? I just don't see it.

@@BigMoneySniper It'd give you more range _if you ride it the same way_. The Sur Ron controller is less efficient than most aftermarket controllers by about 3%. So, all settings/riding equal to stock, you can get 3% further with an aftermarket controller.

I don't trust any sort of chargeable batteries, as they can explode, if theres any "dent" or puncture on them internally or quality check bad... Been tempted to buy a electric bike tho, only afraid of the batteries lol. Police can't do nothing about electric. Only real problem is once they regulate, which will suck sooo much which I hope not. Or they start adding "taxes", insurance. There are good odds that they might get confused thinking its a gas bike or dirt bike, I think those are illegal in a way, depending on state laws.

The top end speed is 100% controlled by the...uh...controller. So idk what's the next step up from clipping the green wire but that seems logical. If there was a high performance firmware option we could flash to the stock controller but maybe it can't handle any more juice on the top and will burn up - controller upgrade seems to be a definite necessity if you want to ride hard without cooking everything at some point.

You misspelled brakes.

And it seems like your bike is not getting the proper amount of torque and speed because you probably haven't adjusted the tension on the belt since you first got it, eventually the belt will shrink because of friction ,so then it eventually becomes over torqued and a belt that's too tight will actually hold the power back, you have to be able to wedge at least a thumb, a half inch of flex on the belt, the only way to achieve this is to loosen the motor mount bolts and slowly adjust the belt tension, until you have the desire tension, also you don't want to leave that belt dry, it causes the belt to squeal against the pulley, a dialed-in belt is going to have a little bit of polylube, so this way the belt doesn't crack and snap. A finely-tuned belt will increase the overall performance of the bike, mine screams at about 55 mph , without any upgrade from chi battery systems

How much you weigh man ? I'm probably pushing the max at 220 myself

And of course that bike is going to be faster with and upgraded higher voltage battery, higher wattage and voltage more power, but the chi battery systems don't tell you that they will wear the motor down faster decreasing life expectancy, there's two battery models that you can choose from with a stock Surron , Panasonic, and Samsung, the Samsung is $150 battery upgrade compared to the Panasonic factory stock battery, but I think it goes from 32 amps to 37 amps if I'm not mistaken, as far as an after-market upgraded battery, Surron doesn't recommended for engine longevity.

This upgraded battery is same voltage as stock ie:60v. It has too be as the stock controller only runs on a 60v battery. The reason he is feeling more acceleration is because the new battery has less of voltage sag and more capacity so when you get on the Full Throttle instead of sagging 5 V is only sagging 2V so he get more power versus stock battery
