As an Iron Warriors enthusiast, I'll type that 30 Tyrant Siege terminators are only useful againt vechicules and power armor. They just can't handle 2+ saves. I find them really cool looking and all, but not much use for that point cost.

@@filipmanicmushroomsandrzej4073 yes I love them also but I have 15 forge world versions and play alpha legion was gonna use them until I realized the ultra marine version works better for my army list. Now I have to list and sell on ebay . Feel so frustrated 😠

@@MrCitizen0 I was going to paint 10 of the Fulmentarus guys (I already had 3D printed launchers for them) but then the rules came out.... I find them even more disgusting than Sigismund :|

In our meta we found that rad grenades work wonders against dreads. Double charge with a rad equiped squad, then krak grenades make meat from a dread. Surprised many FoTA players.

Just as a note on your NL list, Raptors and Terrors aren't scoring in HH2 terror assault, I've been filing out my Line with Infiltrating recon with shotguns. NR's are bad enough without their target being knocked down to WS4

Keep in mind that recons cannot be compulsory troops so you will still need two units of tacticals, assault marines, despoilers or breachers in terror assault.

Excellent! Your old video "9 rules for list building" was one of my favourites and one of the videos I most recommended to friends getting into the heresy. Although I've got to say your rule of adding a scoring unit for every 500pts seems impossible now at 3000pts.

Very helpful for building my list. If only the Blackshields could get their rules - I would be able to enhance my play with this video as a framework.

Great video. Could you do a video on how to counter some of the strongest lists that people might run into like you did with the FotA pounder? Stuff like the IF Stone Gauntlet.

Really enjoyed the vid, great format and explanation of how the units work. Really liked your intital balanced/starter army as a foundational approach to building an army. From a personal viewpoint (Word Bearers PoV), I have no idea how 'balanced' stands up to any of those specialist/optimum lists you mentioned. Are those type of speciliast/optimum lists common within the meta?

Unfortunately neither Night Raptors nor Terror squads are scoring. Adding a librarian with the telepathy power to a Night Raptors squad is super filthy if you are feeling particularly mean

Hey Macca, I know you mentioned this on the preview vid, but I think you made a mistake with the raptors and terror assault being scoring. P197, Liber Hereticus only says they're able to be taken as troops, but there's no mention of them getting line-sub type

Unfortunately you have to take a centurion with the legion champion consul upgrade for the salamanders covenant of fire build. Awesome video though! You are amazing!

If you are also playing with legacy units, you should consider using Castra Ferrum Dreadnoughts as a shooting platform instead of contemptors. Twin lascannon plus helical targeting array is basically the same points as basic contemptor.

Currently printing of 9 6 for my legions forces an the last 3 for black shields

I have gotton good use out of casta ferrum dreads with dual lascannons. Used as support snipers insta killing characters and termies. As well as popping open vehicle.

Of course the recon squad was hard to find

Night Lords player here, Terror Assault doesn't give line

Very nice breakdown on what's good and what's the counter to popular hard to beat set ups

Great tips all round. Particularly felt the pain when covering nightlords I’m wanting something different with my word bearers with heavy assault infantry, destroyers, recons ect legion. So yeah please GW more troops less tanks please GW lol 😅

Hey Mr Circle, please do a drop pot heavy list next time, I'd love to have a reason to buy the Kharybdis Assault Claw and multiple drop pods in my World Eaters list since I think drop pods are very world eater-ish

So aside from the dreadnoughts ans Sabres the daek angel list is all melee for or less?

I'm going to build Alpha Legion, my base units are that of the HH1 Betrayal at Calth box. What would you advise as a next purchase to cement the force. Current units. x5 Cataphracti (either L Claws or heavy flamer, have parts to kitbash assault cannons) x30 MK4 Tactical marines x1 Cataphracti Captain with chainfist and stormbolter, melta combi. x1 MK4 captain with maul and plasma pistol x1 Rhino x1 Contemptor Dreadnought Primarch Alpharius.

Are u suggesting 4 apothecary? Or 2 ? When u show the image of them on ea army set up

Step 1) Start a new legion if you play IF or UM to help balance the meta in your area.* Step 2) Do not play TS unless you like Hard Mode. Step 3) ??? Step 4) Profit! * Also, they are the worst Mary Sues in the setting.

I'd be interested to hear how many games of 2.0 you've played -? Not that you aren't presenting some good tips here, but I'm curious if this is advice gleaned from playing these lists or are these internet consensus lists?

Why recon over scout squad? I’m new to this, but isn’t the only difference armor between the two?

Recon Squads have Line (scoring), while Scout Squads do not.

I wonder how FotA will get balanced. It is clearly almost as busted as UM units and IF rules. I think they should do ALL of the following: - Increase all dreadnaught point costs. - Lower dreadnaught M, BS, T, I and W values. Doritos can still be BS 5 though. - Make rules like Sunder and Exo-Shock work against them in some fashion. - Create a penalty condition for this RoW similar to DA conditions that give VP to the enemy if something is not achieved.

Hey macca do you you think you could do a list build for an IF army centred around the templar assault RoW? My army is made around it, but I cant find many other lists to compare it to and I would love to get your take on it! I can also post my list if you would like to read it.

Tbh, I'll always say what I say about 40k marines as well. Take what you think looks cool or is cool. Balance your list between busted and fun. Not everyone enjoys flat out winning, and no one enjoys flat out loosing

what points level are you playing at? Your Salamanders list is so wrong. With that rite of war you MUST take a centurion with the champion upgrade. So Cata. praetor, champion, 10 flamer marines, your 3 units of pyroclasts with transports, your unit of hammer+shield Firedrakes with transport comes to 2985 points, with no upgrades to the transports or any nonbasic gear on any characters. your list, still missing the required champion and any upgrades to anything, comes to 3465 points. Congrats, you get to play with flamer templates and lose against everything. what you're smelling isn't cheese, its garbage.
