1v1 Dogfight with No Block Limit or Weapon Restrictions! [Trailmakers]

Welcome to another episode of Trailmakers! Today we are doing a 1v1 dogfight where we can choose any weapon type we want, and use however many blocks we want. The only restriction is a maximum of 30 power cores. How you spend the power cores is completely up to the builder. Put more into weapons? Thrust? Balance? You decide!

About Trailmakers:
In the toughest motoring expedition in the universe, you and your friends will build your own vehicles to cross a dangerous wasteland. Explore, crash horribly, use your wits to build a better rig, and get as far as you can with whatever spare parts you find on your way.
Welcome to the Ultimate Expedition!
Journey over grueling mountains, hazardous swamps, and bone-dry deserts on a distant world far from civilization - it is just you, your fellow adventurers and the amazing, jet-powered hover-buggy you built yourself. Explore, crash your vehicle, build a better one, and get as far as you can with whatever spare parts you find along your way.
Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

and once again Scrapman builds a vehicle that still works even when half of it is missing while Yuzi builds a glass cannon

Honestly putting little to no limits on your creations is a simple yet pretty novel idea. Would you maybe consider applying it to different challenges? Battlebots, beyblades, tanks, etc?

I love how dynamic these fights felt - i really thought yzuei might make a sudden break and take the lead at any point

Considering how often Scrapman was on Yzuei's tail, I wonder if it would have benefited Yzuei to have a backwards facing/tail gun. Other than that, I think the deciding factor really was just pitch authority. If Yzuei was more able to hold his ground in the turn fights, those smart cannons would have done the job for him; he was already doing a decent job eating away at Scrapman's practically-a-flying-tank.

Probably one of my favorite creations Scrap has build. Very aesthetic and imposing build, clever redundancy, and solidly built

Video idea: Create a plane that can fly with an offset center of mass in the x, y and z axis.

You should do a bonus round where you swap builds and see if the winner can still win.

Those more freedom matches are more interesting in my opinion because we can see actual difference in builds and strategy

I’d def like to see a second episode of this, with builds from what you guys learned from this battle. Was a good battle

This was soo epic, that second dogfight was so long and realistic because they lasted a lot. I wanna see more, maybe a dogfight between planes where redundancy connections and tankiness are required. Like a battle between mammoths.

Scrap's plane looks like the obese lovechild of a WWI-era biplane and a de Havilland Vampire, whereas Yzuei just built an F-16.

It's really interesting how different their builds were. Scrapman really made building a fighting plane into a science, but once Yuzei figured out how to really use his jet's speed the field got a bit more even. This was really fun

It was pretty cool watching Yzuei's corpse of a plane fall to its doom.

Scrapman should have put 1 by 4 connectors on the wings to have even more redundancy

I really hope ScrapMan plays From the Depths in one of his videos. I would love to see an evolution fighting video with the crazy stuff in that game
