1st timers run Oregon inlet & get stuck with bad gas - Boston to Miami PowerBoating the great loop

Ойын-сауық

Ran from VA beach to Oregon inlet in the morning and wasted a day getting bad gas from Oregon Inlet Marina… be careful! Bertram 28 adventure
We rigged the saltwater wash down pump to run as a fuel pump to suck out the bad gas and rust water from the bottom of the gas tank. Finally got going and headed to Beaufort Nc for more gas at Town Creek Marina… very nice people 👍

DM me. I got bad fuel at Oregon inlet 8 days ago and had to pump out my entire tank, replace filters, and get my fuel injectors clean. This was on basically a brand new Suzuki outboard. They tried to tell me they weren’t having any issues with the gas, which now I see is a lie. I’m a licensed NC attorney and I don’t intend to take this crap laying down.

Hey yea I’m back. I cooked the starboard transmission in that storm, most definitely my fault. I should’ve slowed down but instead launched her airborne probably 5-6 times. Since getting her home it’s just been dealing with scammers and thieves that call themselves marine mechanics. I’m hoping she’ll be back in the water soon though. The new trans is in and just needs the starter, heat exchanger and ancillaries hooked back up now. I think I’m regards to value, you can’t really beat it. Sure it cost $10k in fuel to get her home plus another $7k in payments to mechanics and other workers. But you couldn’t come close to getting a newer boat similar to a b28 for triple that cost. So I’m short, I’d still make the same choice again.

you need to drill a small hole in the side of glass bowl on water separator then run a 5/16line from glass bowl to bilage pump bay
