Hi Chris! The selection of these fish is very important to have new generations that have the most beautiful colors and spots possible. I believe this occurs in all varieties of goldfish, shubunkin, koi carp and also the various Orandas and miscellaneous selections. From a reproduction it is necessary to select and select, I remember decades and decades ago when I met a famous breeder and pioneer of Discus in Europe who told me his mantra: From a reproduction it is necessary to highlight three parts, the head (perfect and quality fish) the body (fish with reproductive potential but not excellent) the tail (fish not colored or with excellent shape considered the waste). Good day my friend.

I totally agree with you Marco. As your information about the discus breeders bang on it really is the labor of love trying to get the proper coloring body shape pattern and hopefully one day my brood stock will be that much better. Thanks again for watching and your support means the world to me. You take care of my friend

Amazing video and I watched all the way til the end of the video. Really appreciate your sharing of fish breeding knowledge. The orange Shubunkin with the thick solid black stripe is definitely one beautiful unique fish. I used to try and breed Betta fish, but I eventually gave up as I did not have so many fish tanks to house all of them. Just wanna say you’re doing very good, Chris! Great to see so much passion in fishkeeping 🥂

Thanks Nick. Yah it's important to build a good trust between you and your local fish store. I saw some of my culld actually at the fish store and some of them They had pulled out and were selling. I just left as long as it's not under my name. I don't care and there they were actually very grateful to get them cuz they wanted some really safe fish disease-free to feed their freshwater barracudas. It's nice to be able to trust feed her fish because so many of those that you buy at a pet store so disease ridden. I wouldn't trust any of them unless they were frozen solid and I'm still not sure I trust them

That's some process you have for culling them, I can tell you know your fish and what your looking for in the babies, for the most part it's easy to see the deformities but your going through so many fish you sometimes miss some of them, I've found that every once in a while that ugly duckling turns out to be a beauty so if you see something in a certain fish you might just want to hold onto it for a while to see if he changes for the better, some of your adults remind me of when I open up some Breyers Oreo cookie dough ice cream, all white with black speckles and patches, super nice! enjoyed the video!

I totally agree about the ugly duckling every once in a while it just comes out of nowhere. That's too funny about the cookie dough ice cream. Yeah I definitely like some of the the white with the black speckles or blue speckles for that matter. I think with the extra time then I'm going to give. These guys are really fine. A few more diamonds in the rough. Thanks again my friend and I appreciate your support and kindness and so wish you live close by so I can share some of these fish with you
