People don't realize how much strength it takes to dance like this because the pros make it look care-free and effortless. My roommate belly-dances using the "tribal" style and she had to work out for a couple months just to have enough endurance for a 10 minute routine... and she was already in good shape!

I think that the fact that she looks like she really loves what she's doing makes her performance even better. No wonder she won first place!

I remember when my belly only jiggled on purpose. Lol. This inspires me to get back into my dancing. I didn't realize how much I missed it.

She has like intense and precise muscle control of her whole body,its insane,im in wow at watching how much control over almost every muscle she has.

Because it is fascinating how to get their bodies to move as such elegant way where it looks so coherent to the beat of the drum. it's quite beautiful

it's as though the music controls her body, just amazing...

Absolutely love her skirt, whom ever sewed all of the panels in, in such an order and fashion did an amazing job! The whole look and arrangement of the skirt is lovely and I'd love to see others use this style in different color combinations, it can hide some odd looking legs!

This woman had some serious control over her torso muscles! Amazing. I wish I could still dance like that... Its been a long time since I have.

Damn, she's fantastic! Her shimmies are amazing! And I love the way she uses her hair throughout her performance.

Great performance, music selection, and she put quite a bit of work into her costume which is also done well. She brought a few modern elements into the dance, but kept them subtle. Bravo.

The first song is Yearning by Raul Ferrando and the drum solo is Wana Be-ied Annak (When I am not near You) by Hossam Ramzy. Perfect set of music in my opinion, happy shimmying :)

Honestly, the entire outfit was beautiful and the women inside it was even more gorgeous, her moves were flawless! I admire her! I am a girl saying this too, completely incredible!

a body that everyone dies for :OOOOOO and the liquid moves. i feel like a blob now. this is just out of this world!

I imagine a lot of hours spent practicing with her drummer. Sounds fun!

A really very good choreography!

Those combinations of soft and hard. Wow!! A lot of dancers have a ballet feel, or a looser style. They are wonderful. However, she mixes the two in a poetic way I could really watch for hours. An aspiration for me, but will never be. That's fine. She is a wonderful inspiration.

Crisp movements, good stage presence, a nice nod to Zar towards the end, and she kept it up for 8 minutes- wow!!!

I like how she's having so much fun especially when the 2nd song starts. She's really cute & inspires me to belly dance :)

I love her dancing, she is so graceful and elegant. The music is soulful and does not call for a great outpouring of happy emotion so much as quiet intensity, which she does have. 'Yearning' is a masterful piece of music and she is exquisite as a dancer. Her drum solo is so precise and impressive. No comparisons necessary when appreciating a good dancer.

Several people have been critical of her costume. I say, what costume? I never noticed. My eyes couldn't move past her belly and her butt, and the amazing things she was doing with them.

Yo, same here. I tried paying attention to those details too, but my eyes always strayed to her belly and the movements she was doing with her hips.

That first song was gorgeous. And her dancing was amazing!!

Amazing,genuine, precise, and beautiful. Ive always admired belly dancing.. There's more to it than just dancing like shown in his video it's as if each dancer is telling a story and dancing their hearts out to em. Not only that, but belly dancers always remind me of some sort of animals. In this video, the dancer reminded of of a snake. Maybe thus just me but all I can say it that as many times as I've watched this video , I've become more awed by belly dance. Love this video!!!!

Question: Is this a good outlet for exercise? I want to lose about 30 lbs, but I'm not too interested in the usual method for doing it. Treadmills and running is not my cup of tea.

hell yeah it is! Any aerobic activity done 3 times or more a week will have you shedding pounds! Walking will do as well, just elevate your heart rate for at least 20mins, the longer the better! each time. Stretching and increasing flexibility can lengthen your look also. Can't wait to take my own advice!

i lost 20lbs the first month i took belly dancing after i had my daughter. Trust me it works. I'm not a fan of cardio workout (except swimming) because I hate running. But this is my outlet, it's so fun and i've always been fascinated with Belly Dancing and the culture behind it. Since then I've lost about 40 lbs and still going

zaoregel1 not a fan of running either too hard on the joints! lol classical dancing is too, but differently, I love this dance form, though I do not study it, I was trained classically in ballet, I love beautiful dance, the dance that honors the world not the slamming thrashing trash that is mainstream currently, still I must respect every thing (all dance) for a reason!
