I'm 67 years of age now. It's interesting listening to you. With, obviously, no motorcycling background. What you experienced with those couple of cars. Pales in comparison. To other roadway, close calls, I've had. Over the past, 43 years. Without getting killed. By, drunk cops at, 4:30 AM. That nearly ran me down. By blowing through a stop sign from a secondary road. Across a, state highway. That I had the right-of-way on. And there's no way he could've not seen me coming. And nearly ran me over. I had to lay the bike down in the grass. And busted my left side, front and back, amber turn signals. In my bike was relatively new. I was pissed. Of course there was also the rear blowout at,, 65 mph. On the Dulles Airport tollroad. In heavy traffic. And my motorcycle, virtually out-of-control. All of the other drivers were able to avoid me. As I slid by, three lanes of traffic. Making it to the shoulder. Without ever going down. As I allowed what was left of my rear tire. To direct me where it wanted to take me. And try to, avoid the cars. And did. People in cars do not see, motorcyclists. They just don't. You need 360 degree, vision. You must be attentive, at all times. You must be ready to go, airborne. And know what to do when you hit the pavement again. Because it will happen. Not if but when. And of course hitting potholes. That are deep. Are a lot of fun! If you don't go flying off the bicycle. And under the tires of cars. Which would ruin your day. So don't do that. And you might live a little longer? But no guarantees. I think you help me make up my mind. I'm going for the 4 stroke bicycle kit. I can't stand listening to, 2 stroke motors. Yang Yang Yang Yang. No thank you. Great for young kids. I like it quieter and smoother. As it's easier on hemorrhoids. So great video! Thanks for your wonderful reviews. And I think a 4 stroke bicycle kit in my near future. As I no longer have my, cruiser motorcycle. I had for over 30 years. I loved and miss that motorcycle, terribly. As I was one, with that bike. And it was one with me. We loved each other's company. We enjoyed cruising the East Coast of the United States. And through the mountains. The Poconos. The Adirondacks. The Shenandoah. And the Blue Ridge. What fabulous mountain motorcycling that is! And you always meet other bikers. At the picnic stops. And lookouts. And we are all one big, motorcycling family. I miss those days of my life. Before my brain surgery. Not falling off any motorcycle or bicycle. Not falling off. It was a health condition. That nearly killed me. And not the motorcycle. It's really a little scary. If you hit something on the highway and go airborne. It certainly is, exciting and exhilarating, yes. But completely unintentional. When that happens. And you have to be ready. You have to know what to do. Otherwise you're going down, hard. And that breaks bones and causes road rash. So don't do that either. But it is creepy scary. When you find yourself, airborne. Particularly on a, 550 pound motorcycle. Which was not designed, to ever go airborne. And I marveled over my survival! How the heck am I still alive? But I am! Time for a beer. It's Miller time. Because after that. Who the hell would want to drive sober? So I recommend not driving sober on your motorcycle. You want to be relaxed when you go down. And since a motorcycle does not normally kill, pedestrians. Or, Republicunt's. Though I have considered that option. In the end. It was a good reason for me to, move away from, Washington, DC. And sold by motorcycle. With antique tags. I had purchased new. And the antique tags made me feel, really, really old. But without any gray hair. How would anybody know? I don't look 67. And I don't have a Hollywood plastic surgeon. Much less a Mexican one. I'm aging gracefully. By deciding not to age. But my body keeps slapping me in the phase going schmuck! You're 67! And then I fell off my bicycle. After I had come to a stop. As you should not forget to put your feet, firmly on the ground,, beneath you. When you bring a bicycle to a, full stop. After brain surgery I forgot to do that. I did like that. Who falls off their bicycle after they stop? That has been Riding in marathons. For,, 50 years. And now my health has retired me. Aided by a virus two years ago. That brought my work to a halt. So a motorized bicycle with a 4 stroke. Sounds like a good compromise. Thanks. RemyRAD

The hot glue has gription when it's set up. For your chain idler pulley I twisted mine so it would be straight with the chain not the chain stay that it's clamped too. After doing that my pully hasn't worn out. I've found that waxing my chains lasts way longer and much cleaner. Ride safe and keep the shinny side up 🚴‍♀💥💨💨💨

Im in Thunder Bay Ontario Canada and the law changed for mopeds (motorized or electric) doesn’t matter - you need to be licensed and insured same as a motorcycle. There are levels from full motorcycle M license, all the way down to limited speed motorized bicycle license but the process to attain is exactly the same. So honestly not much point in just getting the lower license levels, but kicker is what ever you bring to the road test is what you will get licensed for. A full M license you can drive anything but obviously with the lower levels you get more n more limited to what u can drive. A few years ago for mopeds it used to be a free for all but now with popularity increasing police will enforce the law. I wish i could get one of these and freely cruze around but its a piss off! I could just get one anyway and try sticking to bike lanes, back lanes and quiet streets… i love tinkering with engines. I keep all my small motors running mint!

This setup would be ideal to escape the inner city and get out to the woods. Pedal when you need to be quiet, and use the motor when you wanna rip. Upsize the rear sprocket and you can pull a small bike trailer with all your bug-out shit. No joke add this to your kit. Electric bikes are fun but when society breaks down, finding a single gallon of gas will be monumentally easier than a 110 volt outlet for 12 hours

Wear a high viz vest next time. And maybe use an LED front light as a day light running light. I do that when riding my motorcycle. It helps . As for the chain, you need a sprung chain tensioner on the slack side. (Similar to a timing belt tensioner on some car engines)

Man I have one of these on my bike. Same kit of Amazon. I didn't get many miles on mine and the small chain inside the gear reduction case stretched out and there isn't a way to tighten it. I couldn't find any chain either. I did end up buying a whole new clutch gear box. It was like 30 bucks. Sense changing it I haven't rode it at all. Just collecting dust in the garage... nice video!

I wasn't expecting a Chinese motor to make it this far. Thank you for sharing your awesome adventure! Quite a ride indeed. The close call was very scary. I would never use a hand held phone while riding in such speeds. 30 mph on a bicycle feels like 100mph in car. lol.

ok so there are TONS of performance parts for the two stroke kits. Some of which I reckon could be adapted or modified over to the 4 strokes. Like the spring-loaded chain tensioner. Obvioulsy you'd need to fab up a custom cover, but it should help with the chain slop.

Really want to do a mid-drive conversion with the Honda GXH50. Fuel consumption is 0.91 litres an hour at 7000 rpm 1.6 kw. Should be enough power for 40 mph or more with pedaling, which is about 1/4 US gallon for 40 miles at top speed. 50:1 reduction on the cranks and 48 or 52 tooth with 32-11 cassette should get some overdrive as there is still quite a bit of power at the torque peak of 4500 which should use even less fuel (even better than 160 mpg US hehe) and also reasonably good hill gears though maybe not offroad. I've got a Bafang BBS02B kit that I'm happy with though and very quiet save for the rattling of my bike. That would be a police magnet in the UK.

Not sure how much you've touched this motorized bicycle since this video dropped, but I've seen some projects use the rear wheel to spin a dynamo on a 12V system to power some LED lights. Might be worth looking into or a little 12V LiON battery you could keep on board that could just be recharged on wall power. That's the route I use on my road bike to give it some aux dirt bike lighting. Safe riding out there!

Great video. A small flashing LED light would do a whole lot of good on cars not seeing a bicycle. That driver probably did look that way, but even if he did see an image of the bicycle, it was far enough away so he made the right turn, not realizing it wasn't just a slow bicycle. It's a great bicycle just the way it is, am going to put one together just for trail riding. Have a Kawasaki Vulcan for the road.
