Today we begin the first ever Hagi Fishing Tournament in which a number of the Hawaii Content Creators challenge one another to see who is the one and true Hagi Slayer. The rules are simple, 2 hours to catch the most Hagi, Humu, and Pinktail Hagi. The Fishing Tournament points are based of what fish you catch, how many, and avoiding species fish.

Gotta do a Hagi clean and cook - I live on the mainland now, but have s fun memories skinning Hagi down Kiholo Bay. I miss Hawaii shore fishing - Mahalo for the fun videos, maybe I'll run into you on my next vacation after this Covid mess. Keep doin what you do bruddah...
If you haven't already, you guys should have an invasives tournament, 20 points each Ro'i, 10 points each To'au, 5 points each Ta'ape. No throw backs allowed.

That is a GREAT idea. Someone will have to teach me how to catch To'au, though. Still haven't caught one of those buggahs!

Epic video! That was a blast, I am so glad you guys did it. We really did find your channel when researching buying a charter business here (saw the live bait excursion at OTEC buoy) and have been watching your videos ever since. We would absolutely love to do another challenge and having subscribers do it would be awesome! Maybe not Hagi, though, I have been seeing them in my nightmares! Please keep the videos coming and maybe we can do a meet-up once things return to normal.

It's to bad your throwing these little hagis into rocks and surf, theres probably alot of family's who would enjoy a hagi feast right on Kona @Shaka fishing

Egg loop knot is the way to go when casting bait it stays on way longer and you can cast without your bait flying off the hook before it even hits the water. Guys use yarn too to keep the bait on the hook but if you don't keep the fish then now the fish has got a bunch of yarn in it's opu not good..Dadoosh 🤙🏽🤙🏽
If I fish for hagi I go for da pink tails for grindz poor man's lobster just skin n filet wrap fillets in foil season with salt pepper crushed garlic and smother it in butter cook on grill or bake in oven come out winnahs
