Truly deserved brother ..

I have the last model of the 4.0 V8 S6 (68 plate), with the same engine, 450bhp, I bought the car with 8k miles (one owner) during lockdown for £31k. As I drove away I from the dealership I felt like I should have been wearing a balaclava, like I had robbed them. Probably the best buy I will ever make. An absolutely incredible machine.

For the same price as a 1 year old a4 tfsi. Absolute bargain. All the car you’ll ever need. And the engine is a belter.

@@dragospahontu the turbo oil line filters need to be closely kept an eye on, some people remove them completely, otherwise its pretty bullet proof

The S8 is such an underraed car

Love the S8! It’s such a sleeper car. Had a previous gen. A6 and only had it 2 weeks when the dashboard rattle started. Brought the car into the dealer and they fixed it in an hour or so. Told me that it was a loose speaker clip. It never rattled after that 👍

Looks and sounds amazing. Makes me miss my A6. I’ve been driving BMWs for a few years because they’re faster and cheaper (in my experience) but I still love the big Audis.

BMW’s are cheaper you say? Not a chance! Maybe you are referring to the non M cars and suvs. But yeah, BMW’s are in no ways cheap. And I’m not saying they totally blow Audi away in the luxury category. In fact on the contrary Audi arguably has the slightly nicer interior than other German vehicles. So there Audi fan boys and girls, 😂.

I have always loved the S8 and am still in love with this new one although I don't really like the black alloys.

Love the S8 my only gripe and dealbreaker is the touchscreens. I absolutely hate touchscreens in cars, fingerprints, scratches, glare, and many manufacturers don’t know how to make good intuitive software for them. Give me a screen but also give me a dial/buttons to control things.

You are a Wonderful presenter Joe , Extremely engaging and very watchable....

The A8 is just a nice comfortable luxury limo, but when you put that VW Group 4.0L V8 in that car and give it some performance, then it turns into an absolute beast as the S8. It's a car that's comfortable and sporty. This S8 is absolutely no joke with that 571 HP and 800 Nm of torque. And 0-60 in 3.8 seconds is a complete lie, since I saw Mat Watson get 3.2 seconds with this very same car, which is just mental.

You should turn on 1 foot rollout on the 0-60 test to get proper numbers, or show both.

It seems a common complaint about Audi the dash having a rattle, it's not just the S8. My BMW 7 Series is very solidly put together. I'm curious if the adaptive suspension also includes the anti-roll bars to keep the car level? BMW 7 Series has the adaptive suspension, but it's an optional extra for the self leveling called executive drive.

i have an Audi A6 Quattro C8 and i had issues with a rattling sound in the dashboard. After taking it into Audi a couple times they fixed the issue. They said under the dash the sealant was not on properly and they re-sealed it to prevent parts from hitting eachother.

As regards cleaning the screen... All the touch screen models have a simple one touch screen lock , handy for cleaning...

3.44 seconds without having the good launch control activated where it revs to 5000rpm. Super impressive.

I’m pretty sure only the dual clutches launch at 5000 rpm. This car isn’t a dual clutch

I’ve the A8. Same annoying vibration from the dash when the centre air vents are open on a rough surface road. I just keep vents closed.

What do you think of the Jaguar XJ? People seem to say it has more character. I’ve not driven one myself.

Would be good to see how these fancy headlights dance about in the dark 🤔

Yep. I got an 2013 S6 for £27k 3 years ago. Pretty hard to beat.

Had a '13 S8 that I NEVER should have sold! Luxury rocket ship with all wheel drive. Driving an '21 SQ7 now which I love, but the S8 was/is just a special vehicle.

I think it has one of the best looking rears

The ultimate luxury sleeper, it's kinda big tho, I would be worried about people denting and scratching it when you come back to see it after leaving it in a car park

I really did think those were the 19" winter wheels or something and I was confused due to the time of the year. They really need to work on their wheel designs to make them look bigger!

Joe, Thank you for being so honest about the hideous new BMW 7! I’m so So SO DISAPPOINTED with the redesign…and I have a 2022 BMW 750 X-Drive now… Sadly once the lease is done I’m going to find another vehicle…so sad… I’m not interested in driving an iPad..I want buttons!! Classy, sophisticated, SAFE buttons! And a design that doesn’t make me think the designers were high on LSD when they sketched it out!

I own a 2020 S8 and I got through a tank of gas every 4 days it's nice to not care about fuel. Hopefully you can reach your goals so you can own one outright and not care about the price of gas.

If you go into the menu you can turn the screen off for cleaning.

The S8 is properly slept on. The transporter/taken model is the absolute best car you can get for your money.

Iconic ever since the movie Ronin. So cool 😎. You can order literally any getaway car "Audi S8 please". Apparently the director who got the actors including Robert De Niro to film many of the driving scenes themselves said two things to them first... 1. Don't kill yourselves & 2. I don't wanna see any brake lights !

100k and still the gear shift controls are the other way around and therefore wrong. How hard can it be to reverse this into gear down forward and gear up backwards. Otherwise amazing car and great video Joe! What do you think of the gear selector? Why do manufacturers keep doing this the wrong way?

Fully agree While I guess it's redundant due to the flappy paddles, It makes a mockery of living your best BTC life.

Love the rear. Front is ok. Dash is the dealbreaker. Shiny black plastic and screens all over. What a mess. No arguments with the motor, tranny, or driving dynamics. But you have to deal with that ocean of dust, glare, and fingerprints on the dash and I'm not wealthy enough to not care about that. Thanks for the review!

But isn’t it as all new cars limited to 20/30/40 etc with the new speed limiters in UK? Thanks for your thoughts.

Yes and no. They have some sort of 'assist' to make you slow down but you can ignore them after a while . The issue is the blackboxes new cars come with

What about the BMW. M760. Any replies?

After I had an audi a8 d5 which has broken dozens of times i bought an s8 d5 facelift that the alternator broke down while driving and it no longer charges(no brake, no steering) thank God that I was able to stop him in time on the highway… lemon cars advice don t buy an audi or a vag product

The older one in Facelift looks far better exterior vise in my opinion.

I hope i get to drive this car in my lifetime

Oh, boy 😂 Literally the fastest depreciating vehicle in production nowadays.

I have had a rattle in my 2018 A5 and my 2020 A4. That's the only thing that annoyed me in both cars.
